A man has been fined after he was caught speeding at 110mph on the motorway and told police he had been to London to buy bread.
The man was stopped by officers at about 22:40 BST on Sunday travelling to Nottingham northbound on the M1.
They said he had been in the car with his two young children and claimed bread in London was £1 cheaper.
Leicestershire Police said the man was handed two fixed penalty notices and reported to court for the speeding.

Well done Liverpool for reversing their decision. I mean, it shouldn't have taken a media backlash - including from former players - for them to realise, but still, it's the right outcome in the end.

I've just been reading an obituary about Bonetti in the Guardian. He played most of his football in the top division for Chelsea, won quite a few honours and played for England. After he retired, he moved to the Isle of Mull where he worked as a postman. Football's moved on a bit since then.
