Daniel Sturridge found guilty of asking his brother to place a bet on a transfer on his behalf, but cleared of numerous other charges. He will be able to resume playing after July 31st. The FA to appeal the punishment and the charges that he was cleared from...so they blooming should. A player at this level isn't strapped for cash and should be setting an example to kids and those further down the pyramid. This is worse than someone placing a bet on a match he wasn't involved in and misunderstanding the rules...the fact he asked someone else to do it for him shows that he knew. And suspensions should be served during the season, not the off season.

A 2 week ban, for someone who currently isn't attached to a club, is hardly a punishment is it?
