No way would they have voided the contract if he hadn't died. Bullshit trying to wiggle out of it because of his death.
Yep - maybe there are insurance reasons? But still, they signed him - he died because he was on a plane back to his new club. Bit unfair to pass it back to Nantes. He would still be playing today if they hadn't signed him.

Some things are just more important than money, surely the best way to resolve it is for both clubs to take a hit and share the financial burden. He wouldn't have made the trip if he hadn't been sold and he was on that particular plane because he wanted to say goodbye to his old teammates.
Two people have tragically lost their lives and both clubs should look to come out of this with dignity and a bit of class.

Agree 100%.

I had no axe to grind with any of our relegation rivals as to who goes down (except us of course!). Now I hope it`s Cardiff (I`m confident it will be anyway) - this Sala situation is very unsavoury.
Yep what gets me is how they milked it (and probably got points from it) and now they are saying "Ah no, he was never our player"

Also as others say a young talented man and a pilot have lost their lives. Just do the right thing Cardiff. Disgraceful.

I think many post on here have made assumptions about the contract situation without knowing the facts.

If money is due, they will have to pay.

If no money is due, they won’t have to pay.

A contract is a state of agreement not a state of ethical affairs.

Yeah I don't need to wait for a legal judgement to make a moral one.

The bottom line is if he hadn't of died they wouldn't be trying to weasel their way out of it.

They've always been a scummy n classless club anyway tbh.

I think they are scummy and have never liked them.

But no one yet knows the facts.

I just don’t agree with passing judgement on this until we do.

Well we know that their claim is based on/around him not being PL registered.

Like I say, I don't need to wait for a legal judgement to make a moral one, I'd be horrified if it was Saints.

Even if they win it doesn't change my opinion that it's a scummy thing to do, the whole thing is just a sad state of affairs.
