So which of the three teams in the bottom three is best equipped to come straight back up? If WHU go down, they are nailed on to come straight back up. They always do. If SFC go down, are we well prepared to come straight back up a la Newcastle?

Not crossing that bridge yet. I'm just glad we have thrown the dice, even though the casino has kicked everyone out and turned the lights off!

Our task hasn't changed though. We still need to beat West Ham next out. We were always likely to drop in the relegation zone again before we played again. Today could have gone at lot worse!

And if we win tomorrow, we will be a further game behind the rest as our game at Leicester on 21 April will have to be rearranged.

Win our games, We stay up.. If we don't then we deserve to be relegated.. I'm a lot more optimistic now!
Getting bored of fans saying we are doomed before even watching Hughes tactics/team selections.

Well said, that fan. When we were relegated in '74 it came as a shock. The prevailing view was "they'll never go down with x in the team". In '05 it wasn't. Some of the performances had been dire and painting yourself into a corner where you have to beat Man U to stand a chance was always going to end in tears. If City drive in the final nail this time, it will be because we won't have performed in the "must win" games. Accepting that we deserve relegation is going to be hard, but that could well be the case.

Relegation isn't the end of the world, just another chapter in the story.

I've accepted relegation already and if it happens its because we honestly don't deserve to stay up. The fault being not just Pellegrino, but the squad and the board combined as well. We should have won more games, we should have replaced him sooner. Now its a tightrope sprint to the finish. I'm excited though, for the first time since game 5 I think, so that's good right? If the FA cup run continues I'll be ecstatic.

I'm returning to the UK with the family in April and really hoping to see a game or two while I'm back. Unfortunately it won't tie in with the Cup final.

If the worse comes about and SFC appear in the Cup Final and are relegated, I feel Mark Hughes would have SFC pushing for promotion next season, if he is offered the chance to stay beyond the end of this season, and he accepts the challenge. He is possibly a manager, like Steve Bruce, who gets a lot out of a side in his fiirst two or even three years before things go pear-shaped.

Don't want to jump the gun because MH could turn out to be unable to get the team to play either....but I'm going to anyway:bandit:. If he was willing to sign for a Championship side, Hughes could be what we need to get back up. However, all irrelevant at the moment and let's hope it doesn't become relevant.

Our team should never have got in this position....we are a good team if you look individually, but have struggled to work cohesively and have then lost our spirit. However, I do agree about the luck bit. Apart from a late win against West Ham, we always got what we deserved or less...can scarcely remember any other game where we got more than we deserved. That late winner for City; that late equaliser for Arsenal; the handball from Watford. We got absolutely nothing. You could say that we got what we deserved because of various failings in the manager and the failure of the club to act early enough....but from a quality point of view, we shouldn't be here with 8 games to go.

Losing at home to Everton is an even bigger hammer blow to them, than losing away to Newcastle was for us.

With Arsenal and Spurs in their next two games - and Liverpool not long after that - the only way that Stoke survive now is if two of the sides above them have a dreadful next five weeks. If they're still in touching distance come the final two weeks, they have every chance. But I can't see that they will still be in touching distance.

Basically, it's somewhat down to us to finish Stoke off, because I can't see them saving themselves. (Alas, I'm not sure if we can save ourselves either.)

West Ham United are in a fresh legal dispute with the London Stadium's landlords over who should pay for a series of costs including providing draught beer, Sky TV and hospitality staff.

Fell out of this club over the past few years but this crap just absolutely makes my blood boil. What a total **** Up by Gov / LBC. To rub salt in wound, WHU are now after LBC for their failure to steward the stadium sufficiently during the recent Burnley game <doh>
