At least Matty has an attractive way out.

JWP's move there has been nothing short of a disaster, and I'm not sure where his career goes next. I assume Burnley won't be keeping him.

KWP will have options.

Be interesting to see what happens with JWP and whether any PL clubs go in for him.

I actually felt for Darren England on VAR there. It's a colossal call to make at both ends of the table and I don't blame him for taking time over it. I think he got it right but I didn't envy him in that situation at all.
Completely disagree with the decision

Tom, I bow to your superior refereeing knowledge but I thought VAR only intervened on clear and obvious errors.

Didn't the referee award the goal?

Then how come something that had to be replayed about 100 times be a clear and obvious error?

I think it was a clear foul that would have been impossible to spot by the referee. Given the magnitude of the scenario, I understand why they took so long over it.

A couple of West Ham fans I know think JWP is finished. They reckon he's hit a wall at least partly because he was so young when he started playing regularly, similar to Rooney, Wilshere, Owen, Walcott etc

A West Ham fan I was speaking to in Salisbury a few weeks ago was saying the same thing. JWP is not the player he was when he played for us. Cannot see what he could bring to a Saints team, especially if he has not succeeded at three, struggling teams. His next move will be to the Championship.

Finally got around to watching the Arsenal v West Ham game.

I think it’s 50/50. The number of fouls going on in that box is ridiculous from both sides. What doesn’t sit right, is only one foul was picked out. Raya played for it well to be fair, pulled the face and all

I think it was the right decision though. Loads of fouls, but I think that was the first one - the others don’t matter after that. Fair play to VAR guy though, as there was loads going on. It could have been a goal, penalty or a foul.

I don’t agree. I’ll need to watch it again, but Arsenal player bear hugged a player from the moment the ball was kicked.

I just think we are going into territory where this has been dealt with consistently through the season.

There is a case for the Arsenal player was pulling the West Ham player that then meant his arm was stretched across the keeper. Actually you are right it was such a mess and so much was going on that VAR should have just said that they didn’t have a scooby and go with the on field decision.

Interesting dilemma for PL / PGMOL me thinks. Arsenal have proven this year, with the right players this type of tactic can benefit. A couple of other clubs have started to do similar. If the above don’t act I can see this becoming more the norm. Not sure how to counter act but definitely needs some improvement / action.

In my view it's a definite foul on Raya.

All season both attacking and defending players have been grappling and getting away with it. Arsenal are the best at this specific dark art.

But fouls on keepers are viewed differently and Raya is clearly fouled by 2 people.

You cannot take a stand on grappling 3 games before the end of the season, making an example of it for just one game, in a season of exceptional ****housery.

PGMOL need to come out over the summer and say they will punish it from the stsrt of the new season and enforce it properly, in the sake way they did for kicking the ball away a few years ago.

Apparently Bournemouth might fail UEFA financial rules if they miss out on CL as the EL/ECL won't bring in enough money to make up the difference in the rules.

I thought that was an obvious penalty live. Shouldn't have taken that long to give.
