I would imagine VVD will get a 4 match ban. 1 for the red card and 3 for the aftermath. That would send out a strong message that such behaviour will not be tolerated.
Never had a problem with Burnley fans. Had a few problems with mouthy ‘fans’ in Saints shirts. Every team has its share of d**kheads.
Wouldn’t the red card normally be 3 for violent conduct anyway ? So if you think the aftermath needs a strong message that needs a three game ban then it should be 6 games. I think 4 will end up being the case but the other way round to how you said it. 3 for the red and one extra
Oh I didn’t watch the match. Just read the posts about him going through someone from behind so assumed “bad tackle”. Straight red tackles without that goal scoring context are usually violent conduct ones
It wasn't from behind it was from the side. It wasn't violent, he just took the man before the ball and Isak would have been through on goal.
More likely a 1+1 or even some arbitrary made-up finger waving suspended ban for the abuse. We’ll see tho.
Given how Klopp likes to cry about things, I’m expecting a total 1.5 match ban, where VVD can sub back on at Half Time in game 2
Newcastle will struggle a bit with their European commitments, Spurs and Chelsea are in transition, Man United are just ****, yep, definite opportunity there.
There are plenty of potential pitfalls ahead, but they're providing a masterclass thus far in how a club can build on success, even while regularly getting raided. I don't think any of us expected Brighton to look like a desirable destination for Ansu fking Fati 18 months ago...
Better owners (a fan who is a master of analytics) was really the key point here Maybe if Markus has lived longer things might have been more like it. Even though our main success happened after he died
Yes, I did think "the club that we could have been had Markus been around longer". You can't help but admire them though. I wish them all the success (and having lived in Brighton most of my life until recently, I'm a secret second teamer for them).
Very much so. I'm happy to live vicariously through them, though: the more times that teams demonstrate that it's possible to break through without unlimited budgets, the better it is for those of us who would like to have a club with similar ambitions.
