I know it’s an entirely unfair comparison, and movement ahead etc is everything, but so interesting watching City’s midfielders and comparing - they hardly ever knock it sideways or back (unless just playing for half time etc). It’s always first thought as forwards, and if there isn’t a pass on, they drive forward themselves. You see it in Lavia, and that’ll be his football education coming out. You just don’t see it from JWP/Lucy etc. It’s a huge part of our issue.
Man City deserve to concede that. They've barely been out of first gear all second half. By all means slow things down once the game is over. But 2-0 is not game over.
At currently 17% Leeds are going for the least amount of possession in PL history. Record stands at 17.05% M.City vs Swansea 2018
I have said it a couple of times since relegation was a near certainty. JWP has led us into the situation we are in with his individual play. When your captain plays like a timid mouse the whole team is going to be affected. No bravado, no flair, no vision, no inspiration, no ****ing balls! We need players who will get back and throw themselves in front of shots but that’s all they do then we shouldn’t be surprised that we never score. Armstrong is twice the player JWP is. I’m so disappointed in him the past two seasons and won’t be sorry to see him sold. Harsh, yes but bollocks, I’m also not wrong.
Yes, I might finally have a Sportato piece I can do without getting myself too depressed. Thinking about this last night and I do tend to agree. It's absolutely time to part ways, and that's no bad thing for either party.
Do it. There are 2 hundred games you can draw on to support the point. I’ll be amazed if we get 25m for the deadly set price specialist who has led us to one of the worst set price scoring records in the league. I’m ready throw cups at the tv every time the dickhead commentators read that bullshit off the notes they wrote at the start of the season.
I'd actually be fascinated to see how he gets on at a bigger team. Much like Ralph, it may just be a case of us wearing him out to a shell, and with some more progressive coaching he could potentially be great (has a great engine etc). If he plays in his stop, slow, sideways manner at somewhere like Newcastle or Spurs, it likely won't work out for long. He's clearly a terrific guy, and bright too, and I wish him the best of luck. But if he wants to be a starter at a bigger team, he will need to show more than he has done with us.
Yep. I’m in a bad place with them all at the moment but he’s disappointed more than anyone else. failed to change a single game for 6 months. Or whatever. I believe he could do so much more and will in the future.
