I still can't get my head around Tielemans being available on a free transfer this summer. The queue for him, I presume, will be massive. Whoever gets him, fair play.
Better than a Leicester win. I would prefer a draw, keep Leeds in touching distance. If it stays like this it’s down to four I reckon.
Most of the press and media would like to see us down, been like that for a long time. They seem to have a problem with us for some reason or other. Perhaps we don't give out enough freebies?
I'd agree if you were talking about it being best for Everton or Forest. We're not catching Leeds or Leicester. But if we were to produce some sort of miracle, we'd only need to catch one of them - not both. So both of them moving further away just means an even bigger miracle is needed.
Yeah this, we have to finish above 3 teams for us to stay up. 2 of them almost certainly have to be Forest and Everton, the other will be one of Leeds or Leicester. We needed one to lose tonight and then just keep losing. I’d go as far as to say that the draw tonight means we are 100% down, up from our 99% likelihood before tonight
But if we beat Bournemouth we gain 2 points on both of them rather than 3 on only one of them. A win on Thursday would keep us in reach of both teams.
Which is why a draw is the best result for Everton and Forest. But for us, closing up by a whole two points...it's barely worth mentioning. If Leeds lose to Bmouth, and Leicester draw Everton, the draw tonight is more palatable. But even then, 17th would still be further away from us than if one of them had lost tonight.
If Leicester had been 1 up then maybe I would agree with you. But given who Leeds still have to play I really didn't want them winning tonight. Anyway, this is all academic if we don't win ourselves on Thursday.
Yeah, the days when we wanted a large pool of potential relegation contenders are over. At this point, our only hope is for the bottom to fall out for the three teams directly above us, and the odds of such are quickly fading. Anything more than 4 points from their remaining 5 for Leicester (or 3 from 5 for Leeds) and it's nigh on impossible, though it's already extremely implausible.
