If we’d only bloody managed to hold on last night. Still, if we can manage a couple of wins in a row out of our arse, it’s still possible.
I said a couple of weeks ago that for us to have any chance whatsoever (which we don't have), we'd have to accept at least four of the bottom nine escaping. And most likely five of them. Four of them arguably have done just that over the past fortnight (Palace, Wolves, Bmouth, West Ham). So now it might be time for that fifth side to join them. Because now that Leicester have won today, it wouldn't be a disaster if they followed it up by beating Leeds and Everton in their next two games. It would put Leicester on the verge of safety, but it would leave Everton and Leeds in all sorts of trouble. (But it's still not happening. That 5 (and a half) point gap to Leeds is massive. It's us or Forest to finish bottoms.)
I’ve been operating on the assumption we have been down for a while anyway, although last night looked hopeful until we blew it. All we can do is try to pick up as many points as possible and hope results fall our way. It’s rightfully out of our own hands, we can just try our best, which to be fair we did for 85 mins yesterday.
When you look at Everton's next four fixtures, they absolutely cannot afford to lose at the King Power. It's been a disaster for them to have only taken one point from their last two games vs Fulham and Palace. It's a bit like when Forest recently only managed one point vs Leeds and Wolves. That's what convinced me that Forest are heading down with us. And if Everton lose to Leicester, they will be the third side. It might not even go down to the last day.
Fingers crossed it is Everton, but You sense they will find a win from somewhere at the expense of Leeds!
