I don't think Potter walks straight into a top six gig straight away. More likely a Leicester/Leeds/Villa style club.
One day we'll actually work it out that in the PL there is a collection, small in number of top class players who could almost win matches without too much managerial involvement. That collection generally ends up being shared amongst five or six clubs. Then you have the rest, a much larger collection, some of whom are fairly decent players who with some decent management expertise can obtain a decent but not ground breaking set of results and then the others who frankly will never get the job done whoever is managing them. Managers come and go, some for good reason but the players remain the same mix. It will be ever thus, this year and for the last two years it's been us that have more of the latter than the former. Next year it will be some other club finding this out. The sustainability of such a model on which the PL is founded is biased every time towards brilliance for a few and occasionally excitement for the rest and it really is for clubs like ours to be providing those brief moments of excitement. That's what keeps me as a Saints fan, that knowledge that at some point we burst some other major club's bubble, but it won't happen too often and this past phase hardly happened at all. But, next year........... Hope returns
Got to say that was pathetic from Kane as well. It's a red card but Kane made sure the referee gave it.
The games that Doucoure will miss will hurt Everton as well. Particularly the Fulham and Palace games where they would be looking to get points from.
They're doing exactly what they did against us when they went 3-1 up. Just sat back and invited pressure.
