I've read that the club can't afford to sack him, Accounts have been frozen in Thailand, how true that is I don't know.
My understanding is that him and Leicester entered into a fairly unorthodox contract - as the club were concerned he’d bin them off for Spurs/Arsenal - where if one party walks away, they owe the other a pretty substantial sum of money. He’ll have to stick it out if that’s the case.
If this were true he would have left at the beginning of the summer when it was made clear to him that they were pretty much skint They behaved really strangely for a club that really need to sell though - they played hard ball on valuations that resulted in Praet, Vestergaard and Tielemans still being there. Crazier with Tielemans since he goes for nothing next year
I am sure that I heard a discussion on Radio 5 last Bank Holiday Sunday when they talked about Rodgers being very keen not to sully his reputation and why he would be keen to leave Leicester if he could not take the club any further. I feel sorry for the fans but quite enjoy the fact that Rodgers is coming under some scrutiny.
ACLs tend to be unlucky injuries but he does have a bad injury record. I remember finding it and posting it
Looked a foul but very soft. Why does it take them so long though? I hate that you can’t celebrate goals properly anymore
It isn't clear if it takes 2 minutes and about 15 replays to decide. There is contact, but not enough to send someone down. In no way is that clear and obvious. The fix for VAR is so simple. Stick a time limit from the moment they view the first replay. If you cant decide in 30 seconds/minute then it isn't a clear mistake and the on field decision stands.
It shouldn't have taken that long because it was a clear foul. It took me one replay to determine that.
There's a world of difference between correcting howlers, and re-refereeing the game. VAR was never intended to correct everything. Having been sent to the monitor, Tierney has made the correct decision, absolutely. Being forced into watching again, he had little choice but to correct the error. But he didn't need to be asked to watch it again. The bar for VAR intervention should be so much higher than that.
This is the way things are going. I notice this in international rugby union. Unless a try is absolutely clear cut they nearly always signal to the video when one is scored. They seem to be doing that now, rightly or wrongly. Checking every goal
Yet it seems the premier league level ref took much longer to determine that. And indeed the pundits and other people on this forum disagree with you... because it isn't clear. Neville, who you'd think would be pretty bias, changed his mind twice after seeing various replays. Unless it is a unanimous verdict that can be reached straight away then it isnt clear.
