Leeds looking like they got their recruitment absolutely spot on since Bielsa. Phenomenal against Chelsea today, just the pace and intensity of the play I think any team in the league would struggle against them. Marsch has got them playing with a real ferocity, he has got underperformers like Struik, Koch even Rodrigo who has always been just ok now looking like quality footballers. Still Dan James though, not much you can do with that one
This is looking like such a competitive EPL season that I think we could see some real surprises at the top and bottom of the leagues. Midtable security will be nothing to be sniffed at when the WC rolls around.
I was thinking the same thing. This season could be fascinating and overtun a lot of people's expectations. I am not too surprised about Arsenal but the other teams I had expected t be near the top have all faltered. (Man City, Man Utd and Liverpool.) West Ham were much praised last season and they are still waiting to pick up their first point. The likes of Fulham , Forest and Brentford has performed much better than predicted and Brighton look on course to have a terrific season. I would love to see the current bottom three teams relegated but perhaps only Leicester look like finishing in the same part of the table. It would be amusing to see Liverpool, Man Utd and Everton scraping around the bottom of the table and involved in a relegation battle in the spring but I can't see it. Tonight's match will be brilliant because , whatever the result, it will be the wrong one for either Man Utd or Liverpool. I feel that the press want to see more misery heaped on the team from Old Trafford yet it would be so amusing to see Klopp thwarted in a championship challenge before we have even got to September.
In fairness though, we’re only three games in. City have two hefty wins and a draw, so yes, the last game was a disappointment to them, but I’d not say they’ve had a faltering start. I hope it is a weird season, but I think Brighton’s lack of a potent attacker will catch up with them (Welbeck is made of glass, as is Lallana), and Brentford just lost to Fulham. Though I don’t sadly expect United to be scrabbling around the bottom (and certainly not Liverpool), I do think/hope Everton will.
So, what will help our cause in our match with Utd, when they play Liverpool tonight? Them putting up a fight and making Liverpool work and scrap for everything, giving them a confidence boost? Or Liverpool giving them a humiliating beating, meaning that they come to us with wounded pride and a point to prove?
I want Liverpool to give them an absolute pasting. I love that Klopp has talked so much ****. United are terrible and Casemiro should improve them but they’re a joke.
I think a pasting tonight and then an early goal for us to send them panicking Unfortunately i actually think it’s a bad time to play them… if (when) they lose tonight they will be hyper focused on our game. Brentford caught them off guard and their prima donnas were expecting an easy win
It's a worse time for them to play us than the other way round IMO. They could easily be bottom of the table come Saturday and we're coming off the back off 2 good, come from behind results.
Apparently, the Chelsea players managed to fly up to Leeds, but the management team, trainers, tea lady etc had to travel by bus (luxury coach?), and this clearly had a detrimental effect on the players. Yeah, right.
Was pretty obvious tonight was going to be like this, at least at the start. United just been rinsed for last 2 weeks and have unsettled business with Liverpool from last season. Liverpool have also been **** this season
