Burnley yes, I think Watford will stay where they are. Im clinging to the hope that Newcastle take that last spot.
Eriksen on the bench for Brentford's game against Newcastle today. Hopefully he gets on the pitch and takes them apart.
Their match versus Palace was a real set back though - after the Villa win - losing 1-4 at home with an xG of 1.72 vs 0.82. They now face Man Utd, in form Wolves, Arsenal and crack south-coast outfit Southampton in the next 4 games,
Fortune is swinging Newcastle’s way. Win this and they are probably fine and they have an excellent chance
Honestly, I think they can do it. Didn’t look at fixtures but that’s a team who have at least looked good at times. Leeds, on the other hand, are hopeless. They have had a very “system” team gutted by injury and have been unable to deal with missing pieces. Everton are just a ****ing nightmare from soup to nuts. Bad team, playing without confidence and with a coach who loves to talk a load of bollocks. If they stay up it will entirely be down to DCL putting on amazing solo performances. As hilarious as it might be to see Newcastle go down, Howe has made them better and I think, barring a very Newcastle-style calamity, they’ll be okay.
Everton are indeed in an absolutely awful place right now. But they still have a four point lead and two games in hand, before today. If Watford want to stay up, I suspect they'll need to catch both Leeds and Brentford. And their next six games (including right now) include Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool and Wolves, plus a trip to our place (Arsenal being the only home game of those five). Decent run of fixtures thereafter, but only if they're still in touch. The other one of those first six games is home to Everton...they need to win it.
And with that Newcastle look to be safe. Not ideal because that pushes our ceiling down by one place for next season. But it was going to happen eventually
Soccer Saturday saying the ref is inexperienced and basically shouldn’t have given it ……….myself personally think it’s correct to book him.
