Yeah there's definitely some clubs taking the piss a bit. I expect clear guidelines on numbers to come out of tomorrow's meeting.
It definitely seems like Man United only had a couple of cases among players when the Brentford match was called off Reading more closely their concern was the training ground being closed
Compared to those two, Norwich and Watford it isn’t. May not be saying much but it is important We’ve had a couple of hammerings - one against one of the best sides (having contained the other two reasonably well) and one with a 40 year old goalkeeper and a bunch of injuries and suspensions How many would Leeds have gone down by against Arsenal if their first two goalkeepers were injured. Their goalie made loads of saves yesterday
I’m going to suggest Villa are another side taking the piss given how late that game was called off. And Brentford seem like they want to use it as cover for their existing injury crisis. Which, to give Leeds some credit, they have not done Howe is apparently outspoken about wanting a pause. Again this is taking advantage as they clearly want to limit the haemorrhaging of point until they have chance to sign new players. It doesn’t seem like they have many cases themselves I don’t know how many votes a pause will need but multiple clubs have their own different reasons and it could well be enough That is if the government don’t force a pause - but the the Dutch one hasn’t despite a sudden strict lockdown of everything else
How the feck do the rules allow the Man City keeper to completely wipe out the Newcastle player and not be punished just because it wasnt "near" the ball?
I’d have said it was because the defender had already taken the ball well away from the area, Fraser was never going to get it, so there was no way he was stopped from getting the ball. This game is getting very irritable - I imagine there could be a load more cards on their way …..
Then it was an off the ball incident or whatever they are called. I'd suggest the keeper was just as close to the ball as Fraser was
It really is an incredibly poor league this season. Never has the argument for an 18 team league been stronger imo.
Tricky being a football fan. I suspect those that thought Howe should replace Ralph here would say that he can't be held accountable for individual mistakes like that, but when we do it, it's somehow all Ralph's fault.
Wheels starting to come off a bit for Chelsea. Can’t believe some were calling them champions elect earlier in the season. Not on the same level as City or Liverpool
Newcastle's average goals conceded per game has increased under Howe, as compared to Bruce. And their average goals scored per game has decreased. If it wasn't for their takeover and the impending transfer window, it wouldn't matter whether it was Bruce, Howe or Pep in charge. There would be only be one ending to their season. That Bruce (and Rafa before him) managed to keep them up this long was a small miracle.
I had them down as champions in pre-season because of their defensive ability. Plus I thought Lukaku would own the league - injuries and covid have stopped that. I wouldn't rule them out just yet.
