Yep definitely. Leicester were quite rare insomuch as they really kept their foot on our throat that night.
Brentford also have Goalkeeper problems 18yr old Matthew Cox is expected to start Vs us on Saturday! not that we'll trouble him much or anything
If we don't get a few early shots in on Saturday now I'll be dismayed. He's bound to be nervous. Tactics should be: corners put into 6 yard area and don't be shot shy. Simple.
The other crucial part of that, and one we’re not so hot on, is the shots have to be on target AND with more power than my 5 year old niece can muster, which given the amount of scuffed shots I’ve witnessed from our players this season, will be a mighty challenge indeed.
Despite having larger resources than at least 2/3rd of the league. He should bore off in case he draws attention to his underperformance
"an insufficient number of first-team players available to fulfil the match“ - do they mean from their first 11? Surely not because otherwise that is nonsense
There’s no way we don’t pick up the record for most goals conceded in a calendar year at this point. And given that it’s stood for 27 years and there have been some god awful teams during that period shows both just how bad we’ve been defensively and how lucky we are to still be in the league…
I see Arsenal beat a very good West Ham side 2-0. Arsenal have been very good at home lately. I just thought I'd put our 3-0 loss there in a bit of perspective.
But if a team concedes a boat load of goals Jan-May, they normally go down and then don't concede as many Aug-Dec. We are fortunate enough to stay in the Prem
Exactly. It means that we've had one of the worst defensive records of any team to remain in the PL, rather than one of the worst defensive records overall. There have been plenty of worse defensive teams, they're just all plying their trade in the Football League. The good news is that our defense overall has been better this year than it was for the second half of last season, by a decent margin. We're still quite error-prone, but give up fewer chances overall, which is nice. The bad news is that our attack is significantly weaker, and so we can ill-afford any erosion in our defensive performance. Like, say, the 14 goals we've shipped in our past 6 PL matches.
How dare you sir! Perspective? On a place like this? Be gone with you ! But I assume said West Ham side were forced to play a 40 year old goalkeeper due to their first two choices being injured and not being able to keep a third choice with premier league experience on the books. I also assume that they weren’t able to play their first choice attacking players nor their first choice midfield screeners - the latter of which have proven vital to their plays style? And I assume there is no way they had two circa 30m attackers sitting on the bench both of whom cost 50% more than certain unnamed club’s record signing And of course there is no way they spent circa 30m (again 50% more than some club’s record signings) on not one but two players in the summer with one of those being a guaranteed reserve the whole time? With no major sales required to fund these moves What’s that? No to all of those things?!
