It put me off going to football for over 25 years. I had a particularly scary experience at White Hart Lane which terrified me, and that was a few years before Hillsborough. There is a huge difference though, between the horrors of those days and safe standing areas. I’m very much in favour of introducing those.
Always rather sit...view is better for anyone not over 6 ft. Doubt you are in the minority....a sizeable minority want standing and why not if it can be safely accommodated (away from me)..
Think you're probably in the majority to be fair. It's not an insignificant amount who stand each week though in areas not suitable for it. This will give people the choice too which isn't always the case at present. Definitely a step in right direction imo.
I’d put money on Ole going before the end of the season. There’s nowhere to hide now and still the same issues there against organised teams who press hard in the midfield. They need at least 2 players and Ronaldo is not going to be the answer.
Possible answers from Ole: "I didn't see it" "What goes around, comes around" "We're Man U, so we're exempt from petty rules"
Was what a foul? Pogba on Neves. If so the answer is easy - No. But is your point that is was similar to Stephens on Fernandes complete with a Portuguese player attempting to cheat ?
Don’t know about the rest of you, but I am loving the more physical aspect of the game with the ref not feeling as though he has to blow for a foul just because two players make contact with each other. The game is becoming more open now and I can see this benefiting teams that play like we do, where we do get the body between ball and man. Our game yesterday had so many ball turnovers it must have been quite entertaining for neutrals
On his BBC interview he was a little more expansive, basically said he thought it was afoul last week but if it was allowed then he was happy it meant this week's one was also allowed. Having seen the highlights, I'm not convinced it was a foul anyway (today) - he didn't make contact and it wasn't that reckless ?
