5 wins from 30 games. I'm sure if that's us next season then those worried will be equally confident of us getting out of it
Yep they need to win 3 whilst we lose 3. They have won 5 all season. If we win 1, they need to win 4. Not happening.
The Fulham result last night allowed me to take a massive sigh of relief. It makes things very difficult for Fulham now. I think that Saints will pull their socks up for the last few matches once it becomes increasingly certain that Fulham are going to go down. The final league table may not show our position changing radically but I think the gap in points between us and the third relegation place will be more significant as is currently the case. Not sure about everyone else but I am keen for this season to come to an end and Saints to reset themselves in preparation for 21/22. I remain to be convinced that fans will be allowed back for the start of August as this is likely to be the point when infection rates increase again and we will know the full implication of the vaccine's performance against the South African variant. However, I think that the squad will be refreshed by the break and the personnel sufficiently changed to permit Ralph to get us motivated again.
Do we want a Brighton win or a draw today versus Newcastle? I tend to think with Brighton’s tough fixtures, and them being better than Newcastle and likely to pick up more points anyway, that I’d rather the Toon lose today.
It's a tricky one. There are a few ways of looking at it. Fulham are doomed and the team we need to finish ahead of so it doesn't matter If Newcastle win, they suck the life out of Fulham as there will be a 5 point gap to make up. BUT, they are then in touching distance of going above us. If Brighton win, then it looks as the 3rd place is deffo between Newcastle and Fulham. Can't see anyone else getting dragged in. A draw keeps Brighton and Newcastle in it - though out of it and us still looking nervously over our shoulders. On balance, I think a Brighton win is the way forward as then there are two teams in it rather than just Fulham and we won't all 'relax' and think job done.
Definitely between Fulham and Newcastle to go down now. If it wasn't already anyway. I'm glad, Amex is a great stadium to visit.
That was a piss easy £80 made. Got 10/1 on a double of Saints and Brighton to win by more than a goal. Cashed out just now.
That third goal puts Bruce's job in danger for the first time, I would suggest. Can't be getting thrashed by a relegation rival.
Fulham might actually do it, it will be interesting to say the least. Also, how the f*ck did we lose to Newcastle... when they had 9 men?!
Howe? Wilder? Hughes? Can't see Ashley being willing to go back to Rafa or Pardew. Two week break now is the perfect chance. And probably the final chance.
