So with Dean sidelined for the time being, who is the next referee that is going to be bullied? It is sickening to target the referee when it is largely the limitations of our own team when things go pear-shaped. OK, referees get things wrong, but is it ever highlighted what they do correctly?
Yes, quite often on here. More than one person pointed out what a good game Craig Pawson had on Saturday. To be perfectly honest, defending Mike Dean is a very poor attempt at a wind up Ides. No one is condoning the vile abuse he received, but that doesn’t improve his ability as a ref.
Referees shouldn't need applauding for doing their job in a competent and fuss free manner. That is what they are paid to do. Mike Dean is arrogant and full of his own self importance. He loves dishing out the red cards and using the authority he has to make sure he is the centre of attention. When you behave like that you have to accept that you are going to be a target when the nutters start throwing the crap around. I don't feel sorry for Mike Dean and I really don't care about Mike Dean. He is just another high profile bully getting some of his own back. I doubt the so called 'death threats' are anything more than a few pissed off fans on social media making a bit of a noise. At least he is still the centre of attention so I doubt that he thinks it's all bad. Go back to when we were getting hammered last week and there were plenty of folk on here wanting to lynch the prick.

To be honest, I never noticed it until this morning when Tom pointed it out. I would have said something earlier if I had done. And yes, I made that remark, which in the light of Mike Dean receiving death threats, I now regret. Making jokes about people dying or being murdered is, especially these days, poor taste, so I apologise for mine.
Let’s be clear, it was pretty obvious @Libby was only kidding with the name thing. I wasn’t offended, didn't think much of it, and what is the difference in having **** like that, or calling Mike Dean a **** etc.
I also think we can count our lucky stars that Mr Dean wasnt called Mr Hunt. And had sisters called Mary, and Betty who married Mr Hinge, and Mr Swollocks respectively.
