Looked like hamstring to me - more reason for them to talk about the 5 subs rule ....

What annoys me most is they've voted on it ... twice.

Are they going to keep bleating on and viting for it until they get their way? Sets a dangerous precedent.

I think a third vote has every chance of taking place (and this time, it really will be the last time). But it will only happen once the clubs in favour know that they have the sufficient 14 votes. They can't afford a third defeat. No doubt talks are ongoing behind the scenes.

Sounds crazy with Christmas approaching too. Sounds like a recipe for increasing cases. While I can see the reasoning for smaller clubs, I wonder how viable it will be financially especially higher up the league's. Opening Wembley for 4,000 sounds cost ineffective.

Only Southampton and Brighton in the PL will be allowed to let in the maximum 4000 fans. <diva>

Can't really see much risk at all - certainly less risk than doing your weekly shop. It is outdoor and, on the assumption venues/stadiums will still be limited by % of capacity, you will not be standing particularly close to anybody else. For smaller clubs this might just buy them a few more months of survival until either normality or rescue.

Boris Johnson is to announce the return of crowds to sport this afternoon with a tiered approach. A maximum of 4,000 fans will be allowed to attend outdoor events in the tier 1 areas, with up to 2,000 in tier 2, and none in tier 3.

As discussed previously the main challenge are the entrances, the toilet facilities etc. I also can't see people self distancing and not shouting. I wonder what happens if the tier changes and the number of fans halve overnight. Opening Premier League stadiums for 2000 people seems cost ineffective.

It's not just at the grounds It's the to and from and the pinch points that would make distancing a problem. These decisions being made far to early and given the high level of non compliance can only lead to another surge in cases. Premature again from gung ho handshaking spaffer Johnson what a cunning stunt.

Pretty weird considering how high case numbers are still.

Life has to start getting back to normal at some point. I'm just wondering which game I'll get drawn to go to. Will I draw the short straw of Sheffield United or West Ham or will it be one of Man City or Liverpool?

TBF I don't really care which game I just want to see Saints live again!

But isn't that the point our previous normal is not long-term feasible, we need to change our way of living. Also with vaccines on the horizon and festive holidays likely to see an increase in cases this sounds like folly.

Seems strange timing I must admit. Thought they'd have got winter out the way first.

Less games on the box as well?

I really wasn't expecting this news until March at the earliest.
