    Well done to the referee and linesman. Red card is the right decision but I suspect many would not have made it, especially as the striker didn't throw himself down.




    Of course we will never know, but you suspect had that been Van Dijk or Laporte they'd have got away with it. Maguire would have claimed the striker was a member of the Albanian mafia so it was just self defence.....

    Fan reintroduction to stadiums postponed. Makes it even more vital we stay in the PL. Anyone who wants us relegated is frankly a complete idiot given the financial implications.

    That's a bit odd seeing as there was fans in grounds in areas under local lockdown at the weekend.

    I support Southampton FC btw, not Southampton FC balance sheet.

    But relegation could threaten the existence of Southampton FC. Probably not straight away given parachute payments and player sales but if we didn't get back up again we'd be in serious trouble. Look what happened last time we went down.

    Clubs are calling for a rescue fund from the government. Who knows whether that will come, but this could be quite serious for us given our financial situation.

    Now I’m not in the “want to get relegated” camp and I fully understand the implications financially and don’t want the club to go bust....

    Yeah imagine if we went bust and a Phoenix club had to start again from the 9th tier and work its way back up. That'd be awful <whistle>


    More seriously, I believe that if 30-40 clubs go bust it in turn could finally lead to the game sorting itself out. Would feel a worthwhile sacrifice then almost.
