I think that the return of spectators will be decided by other factors such as how the opening up of schools works. The govt will also not want to do anything to jeopardize the economy and having the workforce fall ill due to attendance at football matches will be seen to be not worth while. Personally, I think that the decision to abandon the trials for a few sporting venues a couple of weeks ago is demonstrative that the scientists are not confident this will be practical. The issues go well beyond just opening the doors and ensuring that people social distance. Stewards will need to police the fans, there will need to be amended exit and entrance routes around the ground and the management of how the circulation of fans at half time will operate. On top of this, there is the other factor that matches will largely be played in the autumn and winter. We have already seen how devastating the epidemic has been in the spring. Even if small numbers are allowed in at say 20% stadium capacity, there will be issues with who will be allocated tickets. I think that the tickets will have to be limited to season ticket holders simply because this will make tack and trace easier. If there is a second wave, the football will immediately be a non-starter. Like most things, I cannot see any normality until they have a vaccine. If attendance is considered too much of a risk for a sport like cricket, there is no way that larger clubs will open up the stadia. What will be interesting will be to see how the situation may be dealt with in the non-league where attendance is much smaller. Will this follow the example taken with cricket this summer ? If, like WCFC, you get an average attendance of around 150-250, can Coronavirus be more effectively managed at these levels ? (These figures are still well above the number turning up to watch the cricket at St Cross.)
That's what people say when they see me naked for the first time. Unfortunately that is not a positive response.
Fixtures announced tomorrow at 9am, but Man City and Man United will have the first weekend off: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...eague-fixture-list-released-TOMORROW-9am.html
That's hardly surprising as they've effectively been "out of their bubble" for 3 weeks, many of them gallivanting off all over the world.
Honestly think he'd struggle a bit here at 33. Well by his standards anyway. Don't think he's aged as well as Ronaldo.
Im not sure, he doesn't run much anymore but neither did Le Tiss. I reckon he's got another 2-3 years at the very top. It would be fascinating to watch him in a new team. Sergio aguero is his best mate, and pep clearly loves him, so I can see him going to City
Good point on Le Tiss but it's a different game now where athleticism plays much more of a part. Agree it would be very interesting if he went to City. PSG would be dull.
The same journalist that broke the Neymar transfer, broke this story. He was on today's BR podcast, and basically his source is a board member from barca. He claims Messi has asked to leave, as he doesn't feel like the team will improve enough to match his ambitions in the final years of his career. Crazy if it happens. Never thought he'd leave.
