What's the problem. Hawkeye just says the ball crossed the line...it has no input on other factors that get a goal disallowed.

What's this? Fran defending goal-line technology? The world really has gone mad... <whistle>

Eto'o should have scored minutes into his debut.

Fantastic defending from Barry to deny Eto'o.

And some people questioned the signing. Excellent block.

That's my point, you're lucky to get two goal line decisions a season. Whereas refs make mistakes all the time. Anyway the GLT wasn't involved in this decision (except to confuse commentators). Sounds like this was a pretty bad one, but **** happens.

I didn't question it. Mainly because I first heard about it about 5 minutes ago. <doh>

Good signing for me, he's not as bad as most Saints fans were led to believe by that comic own goal.

Swapping Fellaini for him and McArthur (and a wedge of cash left over) is not bad business at all.

I find Webb's reluctance to allow quick free kicks quite strange. After all if the defending side isn't ready that's their problem since they committed an offence to give the free kick away!

    1-0! Naismith. Haha

Must say, while they're getting points, most of the big clubs have looked terribly average in the early-going.

Agreed. He is good at the simple things, short passing, tackling, blocking etc.

Barry is underrated mainly because he played too many times for England. He is a very good holding midfielder.

One I keep making as well. My convoluted way of telling the two of them apart: like his namesake, McCarthy is the one whose supporters hope that he'll crush the reds.

It's an English thing, anywhere else you can just take them.

Bit surprised that HW got this after the two missed pens at Norwich.

Webb is a poor ref I think. People always rave about how good he is for English football and is our finest, just because he refs at international level. I guess it just follows the idea that if you say things enough times then you start to believe them.

2010 was probably his peak, it's an experience business though so he's still a safe pick when a tricky game comes up. 2012 was his last major tournament though, I think it's Mark Clattenburg going to Brazil. I realise not many people really care about this stuff.
