In other news, Giggs' appointment looks a lot like Shearer's at Newcastle to me. Can't really see him doing better than Moyes, especially with the same board.

Happy birthday Jos! You came in at just the right time to help us on our journey to the premier league! Shame we could be losing a few familiar faces this summer.

I'd have put him at 34. Is everyone younger than they should be today!?

Liverpool announce plans to expand Anfield to hold 54,000 spectators. Would then see the development of another stand to increase to 60,000 capacity.

And no login required for me when I returned after seeing your post. At the moment I'm on a PC using Linux Mint 16 and the browser is Opera. It's quirky, believe me..! ;)

Yep, the referee of today is in an increasingly tight corner, which will lead to an impossible situation. This has been coming since football became so high profile that slow motion replay became the norm rather than the exception [it was once]. Coupled with the fact that enormous amounts of money, titles and careers can hang on to a referee's decision [Hand of cheat, and/or Thierry Henry's two handballs against Ireland, to name two that aren't even in the PL], means that clubs are just going to get noisier and noisier about decisions that go against them. Clear injustices, like Spurs yard-across-the-line goal against ManU several seasons back have been addressed now, but other clear-cut decisions that don't involve the goalline are still got wrong.

Referees are humans and subject to human error. The game is finally finding that human error is unacceptable. We can do something about it.

The Telegraph report that Alan Pardew has been told that if his Newcastle side miss out on a top ten finish, he will be sacked.
