    He looks half decent doesn't he. There will be the calls of "he'll never maintain, he's like a JPF and his hard ons" but its funny what a bit of backing can do. We are finding out just how difficult it can be to manage a side like ours under restrictions. There won't be many managers would fancy the job and you can see why Pardew decided enough is enough. He knew what was coming with the squad and thought "**** this, I'll leave while my stock is high".

    We'll never find out if a top manager or good up and comer would get on because they'll never arrive. I can see Carver getting the job despite the obvious.

    I don't know whether he can have success with Palace over the long term. They have a decent side but they are not a mid table squad for me. It depends how they back him.
