Precisely! And like Gera says, the 'pundits' had nothing to say about our performance, only analysed Norwich's defence and how poor it was. I don't think Norwich were so bad that they gifted us five goals, we deserve some credit.
I've not seen the highlights yet- don't expect them to give Fulham much credit. We were good, to a man- some were brilliant, but Norwich were poor and 'broke' around the 3rd goal. In the second half their players were just wandering around in their own half with no real conviction or drive- testament to our performance (and possibly a reflection of yesterdays searing heat). We showed a good balance between defence and midfield, with both Petric and Ruiz dropping deep to pick up the ball. I'm excited for this season, we've not finished buying yet we appear to have most areas covered (bar CM- Sidwell needs another player in front of him in the pecking order- I'm not sure he fully understands how we are playing, when he came on yesterday his first move was to spray it long and wide, where it was intercepted- his head was up scanning the distance as he got it, Diarra was right next to him for the short pass and he just put his foot through (probably the only criticism I can offer of any player yesterday).
Schweet guys! What a performance. I hope it continues, no reason why it shouldn't. We just need our away performances to improve and we could be nudging 65 points this season!
I love how Chris Hughton was more complimentary of our team in his post-match interview than the MOTD pundits!
But they were Alan (Kenny should still be manager, Liverpool are still a top side) Hanson and Alan (Ben Arfur has come completely out of nowhere, well I've never heard of him anyway) Shearer.
I suppose the Alans were a bit of a rum choice of pundits for the day. Hansen only talks about defending, and Shearer... what does he talk about? "Ooh, aye, he scored that, he did".
Shearer ... great player, but I've never seen such a painful transition from the pitch to TV presentor. Watching him reminds me of the scene from "Broadcast News" (1987) where Albert Brooks goes on national TV and has such an attack of nerves he suits through a suit in 20 minutes. Gary Neville, on the other hand, looks like a natural somehow. And Jap Stamm described Neville as a "donkey".
