Just under a couple of weeks to go before the Eastleigh game where I assume it will just be 45 minutes for most players. What systems are we expecting to see? The arrivals of Edwards and Wood point towards a back three being the default, but with a lot of our attackers stronger out wide, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a 5-4-1. not seen Smallbone, Alcaraz, Sulemana or ABK in pre season yet. Have they been involved in any international friendlies or did their loan spells end later?
Smallbone went on international duty. I think the Serie A season finished a bit later. Not sure on Sule or ABK.
Another pre season fixture released; Saints will travel to Oxford on the 31st of July. Kick off is 7.30.
Might go to that just to tick the ground off. Can't recall us playing them in a competitive match in my lifetime.
Depending on your age, last league game 1988, last competitive game 1996. The year we thought Football was coming home.
