The pre-season thread - 2024/25

Pass forward to Charly and he scores. Sadly just offside.

 

Second game of pre-season. This is still mainly about fitness.

 

A recurring theme from last season is the amount of space we are leaving on our left side. Dibling looking good again.

And thank goodness that's the case because from what little I did see of that first half was pretty ****!

 

I suppose 1-1 is okayish for a reserve team, with only THB being a first team starter.

 

HT: Bordeaux 1-1 Saints

 

Charly looking bright which I'm happy to see.

 

I thought Lis looked more and more suspect as the half went on. Dibling excellent at the start. Charly worked himself into the game and was looking the best player by the end. That freekick was so close!

Mainly kids that half and did ok.

 

I'm hoping Charly will be as well.

 

If we play a 3-4-1-2 Charly would be ideal to slot in behind Adarma plus new striker.

 

Charly started from the left and drifted inside most of that half. Might be possible Martin is thinking about starting him wide.

Dibling and Amo running the show in attack again. Great goal.

 

Completely self made goal from SAA.

 

Unusual so early in pre-season! Wonder if it's just because the last 15 mins of the first half were so stop start.

 

SAA and Dibling certainly making a good impression in pre-season.

 

Really interesting actually hearing what Russ is shouting.

I've heard him correct Manning's positioning 3 times so far and is constantly praising THB.

 

Dibling looks like he's been spending quite a bit of time in the gym (and I thought previously his lack of physicality was what would hold him back from getting mins)
