Pique, Rossi, Forlan, Ronaldo, Phil Neville, I'll add Saha, Veron, Hargreaves, Caroll? (GK), Djemba Djemba. All players sold of reasonable age like Obertan (ie not over the hill). Ferguson didn't want to sell Ronaldo. Pique was another he didn't particularly want to let go, but the contract situation, pull of Barcelona, age and having Ferdinand and Vidic in front of him forced his hand. Rossi and Forlan, who knows how they would have coped moving to another premiership team but they went to la liga, which brings us back to Ronaldo... great here, stands with Messi as being streets ahead of other players in that league. Veron, Caroll and Djemba Djemba they sucked. Saha and Hargreaves, decent players but could have an epic conversation with owen on the interior design of treatment rooms. So Phil Neville wins. But he took a long time to get change from a manc to an evertonian. A bit like our Nicky Butt. My recollection of ex man u players. Smith. Been ****ed since we bought him. Simpson; bottom half premiership to championship standard not top 6 material. Butt, good technical player but never pulled his socks up here after the disappointment of being ditched by fergie. 2 relegations. Gillespie good player, but only arrived because Fergie wanted Cole.
So from all those players who fergie wanted to ship out Gilespie is the only real hit for me.
