If he hasn't realised at 21 years old that his primary function is to defend, he'll never learn it.

No sure that is/was his primary function. see also evra and fabio to a degree.

We basically have 2 defenders (rio and vidic) and attacking fullbacks who support the wingers. Even G nev was better at going forward than defending and he wasnt a bad player

The display by Rafael in the defeat to Bilbao at OT really opened my eyes.

    The two things that hurt me the most last night were;

A, seeing Ji Sung Park's name on the team sheet, the game was up right there.

B, seeing that pile of human excrement Liam Gallagher celebrating like the pond life he is. It's the only thing keeping me going, that against all odds we'll still win to shut that **** up.

    FFS guys look.

We are level on points, City have beat us twice. Against every other team in the league we are better than they are. The results show it. We have lost due to 2 bad games v City. Thats what its come down to if we both match each others results.

Does that mean we are so bad, we are talking about bettering the most expensive squad in football, game for game except head to head.

Look City may well go onto win the league, they might go and spank Newcastle ( very likely ) and then relegate QPR. All we can do is win our next 2, if we lose the title on the basis of 2 poor games v City then so be it. We will come back next season, stronger and hungry for the title.

give it a rest, Citmoney, expsnsive squad, reeling of the excuses aint we, you I mean, not United fans on this thread.

DOes it make you feel better to lose to a team that cost lots, I reckon that doesn't sooth QPR and the likes when they lose to United. F F SAKE UIR <doh>

Have some dignity like almost all of your fellow supporters do and concede the better team won without mentioning money.

Like I said, we dont hear QPR and co crying about money when United beat them do we? So your whinging about money is a fkn joke, no wait... you are a joke, you UIR, not @ United fans

Anyone translate this bullshit? Please? Perhaps its something important. We wont know until we have deciphered its strange bullshit like code.

In related news, what an ****ing moron. Do you actually understand how much of a ****tard you are bbf? read my comment again, I said we have bettered the most expensive team ever assembled. Nothing about there money won them the title, just that for all their money its literally 2 games against us thats likely to win it for them. Feeling special now are we?

At the moment it looks like those 3 goals we shipped in injury time when 3-1 down at home to City could cost us dearly

I agree that Utd have done well to even be in it especially with no Vidic, and I agree that we aren't as terrible as some people are making out, but you are kidding yourself if you think that we don't need a fair few changes if we want to win anything next season.

City themselves haven't been as good as they could have been: They let united have an 8 point lead despite being miles ahead earlier in the season, plus going out of the CL early on, and they haven't won anything else. But City's problems are a lot easier to solve than ours

Oh we need changes, no question. We dont need a mass overhaul though like some make out.

Striker, 2 midfielders and a left back will do fine for the summer.

TBH UIR we need 1 striker and 1 midfielder that is it

the left back position will be sorted once the defence starts in midfield and of course on vidic's return

I would like 2 midfielders so we have the cover, just incase we lose important players. A left back would only be as cover again.

But glad to see not everyone thinks we are ****ing **** and we are easily as good as city over the course of a season....as the table shows.

Next year both sides will be stronger, we have Vidic comeing back which will be like a new signing for us, Fletcher may or may not return, again, almost like a new signing and players will come into the team.

Every young player has gained another season of experience, they will be better for it next year.

TBH i have never been one of those fans who thinks we need multi million pound signings in each position. I have always played up the virtues of the likes of John Oshea etc, its these players over the season who come in when needed and do a job

I just think some obvious things get ignored. Firstly (whatever you think of these guys) no anderson no fletcher, even sold gibbo, problems with ravel. Then the whole 'needing' to win and out of all competitions so couldnt really risk pogba etc

Secondly look at the likes of evra, rafael, jones and their performances in the past and how they have ALL been getting stick recently. Why? basically because the normal UTD dont need to be as defensive. basically rio and vidic are enough when you have a keane or fletcher breaking up play thus taking the pressure off the fulbacks to run back into position on the counter

As I have said on another thread look at barca. Do you really think they have worldclass defenders? or do you think that with their midfield 6 (in essence) 90% of play is never in their half?

Expensive, not money related at all, I am impressed you fought your impulses to only put expensive team ever assembled. That reressed anger probably aged you 2 or 3 years.
