Presumably personal terms also mean he would rather live in Marseille than Southampton etc too. If it were just wages you'd think we'd pay more than OM.
If it’s down to personal terms we still have a chance. We should be able to blow them out the water wage wise. But as this is Saints I assume we will miss out as usual.
After losing tonight 5-0 NJ on sky post match”with all due respect, we thought we had a couple of deals done but sadly couldn’t get them over the line”, I’m not a miracle worker but god willing Southampton will try their hardest to stay in this league with the group of players that have been given by the board”. “Their fans have got to realise that”.
As I said, game over he won’t be coming here, doesn’t sound like he wants to either. Don’t waste any more time
For clubs like Villa, Brighton and others in the league that are effectively already safe, it doesn't make sense to splurge £30m on a striker on January deadline day. They'd be more likely to wait until the summer and get a much more cost-effective purchase. If they really wanted Vitinha, they'd have long since made an approach rather than just appearing to try and gazump us at the last minute. I expect a lot of this is just posturing from the agent etc. in an effort to get the best contract for Vitinha himself (not just higher wages but low relegation release clause etc.)
