Several of the "big clubs" have been scratching around trying to find a goalscoring striker and even with their extra clout they can't find one, so what chance have we got?
Probably a big chance thinking about it as the ‘Big Clubs’ will go for ’Big Players’ hopefully and not bother with the mere mortals we are going for. Here’s hoping anyway.
Problem is that when we put in a bid for a player they suddenly become "big" and someone wants to knick them from our grasp...
I was going to say something like this. When Manchester United are apparently looking at Dzeko, Weghorst and Aboubakar it really shows how little there is in the market in terms of options and value (since they seems to be going for a short term budget option)
Newcastle rumoured to be after Kevin Danso for £35m - that's the sort of player we should have been looking at!
Scarcely played, and ended up being played out of position with some regularity when he did play. He was also quite young at the time (believe he was still 19 when he joined), glad to see he has progressed since them.
If I was in charge, I'd probably be looking at a big quick Hoffenheim striker. I'd probably be willing to put in an initial offer of about 26.5m. I'd be quite busy tho so the negotiations would be quite slow. Might not be able to get the deal through in january but hey, nobody else would be able to sign him either.
He didn’t really get a chance. I think he played in his correct position for about ten minutes? Was very strangely handled.
Wonder if we'll use Moi or Walcott on loan until the end of the season (covering wages) as a sweetener for one or two? Thinking specifically of that striker at Celtic and any Championship players we have our eye on.
Rough translation: Saints interested in Doku but Rennes reluctant to let him to go due to injury to Terrier.
Weird, Terrier has 30 goals in 50 games, Doku has 2. Surely they have a better striking option than Doku?
Doku is a winger and mainly comes off the bench for them because of Terrier. But he's a very talented winger.
