I'd be very, very concerned if I was an Everton fan. Literally everyone around them is spending tens of millions of pounds.
Yeah, I’m still sure we will be one of the three to go down, but they look to be taking one of the other spots. Then hopefully Leeds as the final one
I think Forest will get dragged back into it. Then we've got Leicester. They should have enough to stay up but if Maddison gets injured again they could be dragged into it. My gut feeling is it's 3 from Everton, Leeds, Forest, Bournemouth and us. Possibly Wolves if they continue struggling to score goals.
I didn't say he was poor in the air, I said he was relatively poor in the air. And he was. Clearly a guy who's 6'7" is going to be able to win a lot of headers, and when you spend a big chunk of your career playing for a Stoke side whose main tactic is to throw or hoof the ball onto your head you're going to score headed goals. But his heading technique wasn't particularly good. The players immediately below him - Shearer, Dublin, Les Ferdinand - were far better headers of the ball.
So we've got the tallest player in the EPL and reportedly got a deal done for the fastest player in the EPL? Crickey. Onouachu and Sulemana both good signings but its feeling like we are a bit unbalanced as a squad now. Another midfielder would be a dream window.
1 good thing: We haven’t had our guaranteed JWP goal yet. 1 bad thing: we haven’t conceded our guaranteed set piece goal yet.
Have we signed anyone yet, I have been a bit distracted by other events? 2 deals but no announcements, this Club sucks.
Hoedt made a total of 32 appearances under both Hughes and Hasenhuttl, the defender never adjusted to the Premier League and became a liability in the backend. His errors piled up as the defender showed poor pace to track back, he failed to get a good read for the game and lacked physicality. It was becoming known that the Premier League was too quick for Hoedt. Entering his second season with Southampton, Hoedt was slowly phased out of Hasenhuttl’s plans as he played just in 13 games in all competitions. He fell down the pecking order and was behind Jack Stephens and Jan Vestergaard. With no room for Hoedt, he was loaned out to La Liga side Celta Vigo for half of the season; however, once more, he did not see much playing time as he managed to play in just ten matches with the Spanish side.
Say what you like about this transfer window, positive or negative. But we’ve got the 100 page mark before deadline (when the window SLAMS shut), and for that we should all be proud. Congratulations everyone
