"I could go on and on.... But I genuinely don't understand the point in this exercise you wanted me to carry out Wurzel, writing lists and brainstorming DOESN'T MEAN IT COMES TRUE. and is being implemented. We can all write lists, which if you read in our last conversation, I DON'T SEE THE POINT IN" The above answers your own question. Put a REALISTIC name to the 'young manager' You really think these young players are not working hard?? Regular youth input -- thats what is happening but you don't have the patience if it doesn't create instant results? A great scouting network -- they are working towards that, a renowned Spanish coach with an impressive CV brought in this week? Directors working with the council -- You cant honestly say we haven't given this every effort. got us nowhere.! Coaches who know how to get the best etc. -- i'm sure our coaches aren't trying to get the worst from our players?? The board etc -- a weakness no argument. Marketing -- Will make no difference to your 'first 11 first' policy it is an incidental that we could probably do better. incentives -- possibly could be done better -- again no immediate impact to first team results. All very eloquent words but no flesh to the bones? We need real, viable alternatives? I didn't want SOD here in the first place but at least he has laid out a plan and will attempt to implement it, we have been down the 'first team priority route and ended up in the mess we find ourselves in now. The old way is not sustainable anymore, all you advocate is more of the same. As for Redprintt, I have been reading his posts for 5 years or more, he has always been negative about Bristol City, if we won the Champions league he would find fault.!
Which is why I mentioned representative teams. Those representative are also clubs. I mentioned the fidelity strategy, it plans long term with clubs. XI's full of homegrown players. A foreign team whose football I admire. Dortmund yes based on a lot of money for salaries, but also five years of planning. Not an instant panacea, even for a team with eighty thousand fans. You choose to read what you wish. I mention the now, or at least week at Port Vale didn't leave me calling for a total restructure of BCFC, and removal of Directors and Head Coach. No despair, it was more than decent.
Banksy, you joined the conversation way too late mate, that post was based on a question WURZEL asked in an older thread regarding SOME of my ideas/opinions that would go towards making a sustainable football club, not a sustainable first eleven. I wasn't saying we don't already have some of those things in place. Again, I don't understand how you keep interpreting I wish for things to continue as they were the last 4 or 5 years. At no point have I said that. I want change, as I couldn't believe the first time we reported a huge loss that anyone could run a club of our stature like that. My main point is, that our first eleven is failing to produce, and I lay that squarely at the feet of the manager, as we have team more than capable of beating the likes of Wycombe, Port Vale, Shrewsbury, Colchester etc SOD was not my choice the same way he wasn't yours. My choice back then and still is now Karl Robinson, and many of my posts have stated that on this board. He fits the bill for me. That is my more than viable alternative, but I feel it's too late now. AS FOOTBALL DOES NOT STAND STILL, the moment has passed, and I'd be surprised if he would be at all interested. So how that advocates more of the same I don't know. I am all for changing the club from top to bottom, but you start with the main focus of the first eleven as that is our bread and butter, that is what the game is all about and foot traffic through the turnstiles is what keeps the club ticking over! The more fans we lose, the less fans we are able to attract, the more time passes by at this level and lower, the less relevant a "plan for the future" becomes. As we will turn into a Bristol Rovers and all plans go out the door.
'All very eloquent words but no flesh to the bones?' Banksy - Typical of you - you can't answer a direct question. Let's try again - 'Your Starter for 10 - Tell us why SOD (no win in 18) is the right man to manage BCFC ' Don't be shy.
Redprintt let Rhinos do the the thinking in your gang, he's replied to my answers to that already. You stick to your 4 line negativity posts and try to enhance your 'clog it forwards' philosophy for us all to laugh at. Just for you one more time.!
