Sorry but Liverpool aren't a 'top team'. They are a upper mid table team. To concede a 2 goal lead to them within 15mins is embarrassing.

Remind me of the average player value for their "team" vs ours? (yes I know it's not the only measure of quality but players have a price for a reason, usually)

Mbokani is definitely a big positive for me, he has far outweighed my pre-conceived expecations of him and certainly proved me wrong when I suggested in the summer that he was a 'panic buy'. I think he's great, an absolute monster to play against, works tirelessly, has a good touch for a big fella, links up well with others and knows where the goal is as well - cracking player in my opinion <ok>

Tbf to you it definitely looked like a panic buy. On or just before deadline day wasn't it? And just after we had failed with multiple Afobe bids. A loan of a player who had some sort of dispute with his old club.

So in fact, arguably it was a panic buy even though we had supposedly scouted him a couple of seasons earlier and we had supposedly been trying to sign him for a few weeks but had work permit problems.

It would just be the case that it was a successful panic buy... Not many of them I guess
