Remind me of the average player value for their "team" vs ours? (yes I know it's not the only measure of quality but players have a price for a reason, usually)
Tbf to you it definitely looked like a panic buy. On or just before deadline day wasn't it? And just after we had failed with multiple Afobe bids. A loan of a player who had some sort of dispute with his old club. So in fact, arguably it was a panic buy even though we had supposedly scouted him a couple of seasons earlier and we had supposedly been trying to sign him for a few weeks but had work permit problems. It would just be the case that it was a successful panic buy... Not many of them I guess
