I think that Sanders might actually be better off in another role, to be honest.
He looks like he's going to be pushing for change and progress, but won't have to make the compromises that a President inevitably would.
He'll be able to get his agenda into the media and make things interesting.
Clinton's far from perfect, but she knows how to play a role and talk to the press.
The Republicans will still hate her and focus on how evil and nasty she is, while others can do some work.
More obstruction from the GOP's inevitable, though. They've already said as much. Real democratic stuff.
It's just my feeling (note - singular !) for the man SD. Can't really say any more than that. Those who watched the 2nd debate will have seen a monster, who no doubt other people have seen. But from what I can see, when he's relaxed he's a totally different personality. I see a man who is actually loving, kind and even charming with his loved ones. And to me that view is reflected in the way they (with the exception of his wife since the scandals broke) behave towards him. Also, from what little I've seen of his wife, she strikes me as someone who would need that love and if she didnt have it a marriage would never work no matter how much money he had. It's an opinion / insight; no more than that mate.

Given the justification that Amber Rudd used is that nobody died, therefore there's no reason to investigate, for that reason I hope criminals across the UK use that exact same defence when they're in court.
There are certainly many questions that needed answering, but the time to do so was surely many years ago when memories were fresher and all the required people were still around. If it matters so much to Labour now, what were they doing about it when they were in power? I suspect that there are a lot of things which the Establishment would rather keep quiet, but many of those key players are dead or too old to answer for their actions (and let us also say have the opportunity to defend themselves).

I didn't realise that. I hadn't heard anything on the news reporting today that mentioned "new evidence", I only heard reports that there had not been any "wrongful conviction" etc as the reason for not having an inquiry (because those wrongly arrested weren't charged presumably!)
There's no need. We live in an open, democratic society where the actions of the state are transparent and any abusers of power can be held to account. If anything untoward had happened 30+ years ago, it would have been adequately dealt with at the time.
We don't have oppressive, tyrannical, authoritarian governments, who would wish to suppress any evidence of their wrongdoing.
We're British, don't you know. That simply does not happen.
It killed Arthur Scargills' power base, that's something we should celebrate annually, perhaps with an extra bank holiday.
Whilst I believe that the miners may have been treated harshly at times, they can blame Scargill for a lot of that.

Too true, the miners paid the price of electing a self serving **** as leader. Just as the union leaders (with a little help from inept management) destroyed the British car industry. Such a shame as well, we have some of the greatest auto engineering talent in the world. Can you imagine if the likes of Adrian Newey, Ross Brawn and Patrick Head had been running the show at British Leyland.
And yet he was proved right on almost every claim he made about the Miners strike. He saw through the witch as well as anyone.
