So you've just discovered politicians are monumental halfwits, liars, have no interests in anything that concerns their voters ? Thats ALL politicians regardless the next decent one who isn't only intersted in their monied friends or pressure groups will be the first. NO exceptions. LONG gone are the days of Kier Hardie Nye Bevan etc

I've met a fair number of MPs over my life. There were only two that fitted your description. The rest were generally trying their best to improve things. That includes Michael Howard and Michael Spicer, who have the opposite politics to me.

On the other hand, I once had the misfortune of bumping into Bernard Ingham

The best thing I can say about the experience is that, unlike his neighbours, he merely harassed me for a few seconds - as opposed to several years

Unsurprisingly, the msn media haven't picked up on this Tory 'rebranding' exercise before the local elections.

Deliberate policy to confuse voters: borrowing a colour of another popular local party and either avoiding any mention of Conservatives on posters etc or running with 'local conservative' in small letters.

It is a cheap con trick. Trouble is, the population (of England at least) have proved themselves to be gullible to such devices. It might just work! <doh>
