How did anyone think that AOC was going to get successfully primaried by anyone, let alone that obvious Republican plant?
She's incredibly popular in her district and won by over 50 points.

Not sure if this is more football or politics, but I'll put it here.
I'm happy to see the kneeling continue at the start of games, as I think it's a powerful image and an important gesture.
I don't like the black power salutes that some players are doing, though. I think it undermines the message of solidarity.

I'd welcome some differing opinions on it.

With all the focus on Robert Jenrick's dodgy dealings, I hope Keir Starmer doesn't do something stupid that takes attention away from that and lets him off the hook

...oh for ****'s sake

And in case anyone is curious, here is the "antisemitic conspiracy theory" within the article

“The tactics used by the police in America, kneeling on George Floyd’s neck, that was learnt from seminars with Israeli secret services.”

Of course, it's not as if any credible bodies have stated this is the case before or...oh, wait, they have

Oh well, at least the Board of Deputies are happy...

I think it adds power when black players do it, brings back the Olympians from the sixties. It's a gesture of strength and confidence and I find it inspiring.

Absolutely stupid decision. So we're not allowed to criticise the theft of Palestinian land now without being considered antisemitic. The likes of Riley Oberman and Baddiel really have won the day here and it pisses me off hugely.

The BBC describing Amnesty International as "antisemitic conspiracy theorists" is also highly troubling

Did Amnesty say that the Israelis trained American police to kneel on people's necks?
I suspect that's the part that is unsupported and is being deemed a conspiracy theory.
It's rather a stretch to connect them, frankly.

So thousands of people congregate on beaches and the police complain but don't act. Hundreds of people congregate outside Anfield ditto. People have street parties in Notting Hill and Brixton and the police swoop in to break them up. I wonder what difference there is between these events which makes the police act in the last but not the first two ..........oh.
