If only the great and good were equally vociferous about supporting the soldiers that come back broken physically and mentally from operations. Suicides among veterans is a huge problem. I won't get into whether supporting them might be more worthy than the outrage over a single guest on the Jeremy Kyle show.
Brexity Bastard Farage whinges about BBC bias at Marr questioning, but should be grateful that the same media company decide not to run with the biggest expose of the current political scandal.... Namely the funding of aforementioned Farages lifestyle and campaigning... the result of decent investigative journalism by C4News. ♂️
Providing he has declared it, or will declare it in the cases of 2018-2019 or 2019-2020, it is a free country, or at least it used to be, then I don't have any issues. If he has broken the law then he should be brought to justice.
Surely it is about more than just the legality of it. If he is being funded by shadowy people and organisations (haven't seen the story so not suggesting he has) then that is of interest? Why would you bring freedom into it. It is who is calling the tune that we deserve to know. No one is stopping anyone giving money to him, but just cause it's a free country doesn't mean it isn't of interest to people thinking of voting for him.
Aaron Banks paying for his life style basically. Including Security. I am more concerned that a politician needs security than I am Banks choosing to fund someone else.
Maybe look at other people's hands, Joan, although they may be obscured by people holding their heads in them... On the subject of the impending demise of The Independent For Hashtag Change Hashtag Now Group Ltd, I'd say this is the perfect eulogy https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/may/16/change-uk-is-dying-before-it-even-learned-to-walk
Farage and the likes of Robinson appear to be the only ones with private protection services and seem to thrive in that environment despite no obvious reported threats. Unlike the targets of their extreme rhetoric who get verbally assaulted and threatened on a regular basis. As for the funding issue, I'd agree with SD that there's more to it than simple legality - the transparency element is of a more pressing nature as this undermines the electoral decision-making process. On the basis of what is now known about the illegal funding of the Referendum and the refusal of Farage and Co to acknowledge their financial sources now, I would say there are serious questions to be answered.
If a law is being broken, then the law breaker should bear the full brunt of the law. If not, anyone, including russians, should be free to spend their money as they choose. That is freedom.
So the Croydon Advertiser neglected to include a list of those standing for the European elections On the plus side, the pro-Remain UKEUP might night a few dozen votes by people assuming they're UKIP as they sound about the same...
In keeping with David Cameron's new book entitled 'For the Record', Theresa May is planning on writing a book documenting her time in No. 10. Rumours have it that the working title for her book is 'Broken Record'.
