Judging by the front pages this week, they're already semi-pro Although I don't think an away game against the USA is a good idea, they've got far more government backing...
But it doesn't add up. She was a British citizen until the government withdrew that status. She should have been brought back to the UK to answer the criminal allegations she would have faced; they wouldn't have withdrawn the citizenship of any other criminal, so why her? But of course, it was done to be popular with the masses even though it flies in the face of any legal principles. As a consequence, she remained in a war zone and her child (an innocent victim of all this) died of pneumonia. The government had a responsibility to that child. Rather they behave like a 16th century tyrant, the government should have obeyed the rule of law.
Don't agree mate, she chose to denounce her country and go and make her life in a Medieval state. Until 1998, not 16th Century, Treason still carried a possible capital sentence in this country, it should never have been changed. She had already lost two babies before the British government got involved. That was our fault as well was it? She chose to go underground, and in the words of Paul Weller, 'you made your bed you better lie in it'.
Does anyone else think that they should appoint a Minister for Sh!thousery. Many MP's, well most in fact would be well qualified for this job and then, at least one government department would get something done.
"There is no other example of a country joining a union where they have to ask permission to leave" - David Davis, presumably not planning to take a trip to Scotland anytime soon
Having said that, if the UK does not adhere to the result of the Referendum and remains, then there is no point for another Scottish Independence Referendum, they should just follow the example set by the UK government, ignore the result of the last Independence Referendum and leave the UK anyway.
Janey Godley is a Glaswegian comedian whose speciality currently is reworking the clips of the more extreme nasties in society.... Brilliantly. Look her up.
I see Amber Rudd was in Harrogate rolling out the next phase of Universal Credit, I guess that means a few thousand Yorkshire families won't be eating for the next five or six weeks. It is so reassuring that her Department are not shirking their responsibilities and doing their bit to tackle the obesity crises.
No way were my kids ever left on their own until they were teenagers. Even then they always knew where we were and could contact us.
My kids are 14 & 11 are they get left alone very rarely and only for short periods. But we live just 40 miles from Liverpool. Anyway, what has this got to do with anything?
