Then a By-Election will be interesting.... However, it’s just another distraction to divert attention from a dreadful failing Government and help ensure the Tories retain power at the next election. Mind you, the Labour Party is unelectable anyway, so probably make little difference. The need for a new centrist Party has been evident for years and certainly should have happened in the immediate wake of the Referendum.
Good to know that Chuka now believes if an organisation cannot be reformed from within then you should leave
A few facts have already been dug up about The Independent Group i.) They were set up as a private company instead of a political party, therefore allowing them to dodge around Electoral Commission rules - with the most notable benefit being they do not have to disclose their financial backers ii.) The company is registered in Panama, a country noted for how regularly its name pops up in sentences that involve the words "tax" and "dodging" in promimity to one another iii.) Angela Smith got off to a good start on the first day of the party's company's existence by describing people from BAME backgrounds as being "black or a funny tinge" during a televised debate on racism - which means that within twelve hours TIG have both demonstrated one hell of a double standard in demanding a People's Vote yet denying their various constituents a by-election, followed by undermining their stance of being anti-racist by having 14% of their members say something a tiny bit racist iv.) They've been endorsed by that well-known figure of the left Katie Hopkins. Whether this endorsement was before or after Angela Smith happened to say something more than a little racist is something I can't be bothered to confirm
To complete the analogy, should we expect him to slit his own throat and then jump off a very tall building by 29 March?
TV and films have given people an accelerated view of how long it takes to bleed to death. It takes about 2 minutes, minimum. Plenty of time if you're standing near the edge.
The Independent Group PLC continue to be the gift that keeps on giving, with John Woodcock applying to join as he shares Chuka Umunna's bold vision John Woodcock resigned from the Labour Party in July last year when under investigation for sexual misconduct, although he somehow neglected to mention this in his resignation letter that read remarkably like the sort of thing Eddie Marsan tweets when his FBPE ideals are challenged by somebody with sense
Lucky for her the Orange Overlord is saying that up to 800 IS fighters should be returned to their home countries, so they can just bundle her on the plane with the rest
So will they cause havoc in their own countries? Are they tired of killing, stealing and raping innocent people in the name of religion(I assume.)
Of course they will, they wont stop fighting. Perhaps we should open an off-shore prison for them, a place like Cuba might be a good idea......
Trump is suggesting that these countries take them back and then put them through the justice system, rather than let them go free.
It suddenly dawned on me that I'm not watching Harry Enfield unveil a new character based on a Tory MP, but in fact I'm looking at the current Business Secretary Greg Clark please log in to view this image
Bernie Sanders has thrown his hat into the ring of Democrat Presidential nominations. And has been installed as favourite! That's right, the 77 year old who will be nearly 80 if all went his way and he somehow made it to the White House...... However, in real terms, this probably means that unless jailed in the meantime, Dumpf will probably secure a 2nd term. Now that's something to look forward to....
Bernie's a far better option than a lot of those who have thrown their hats in the ring That being said, from the outset I've assumed the Democrat nomination process will mainly involve two or three candidates falling over one another to try and get Sanders as their running mate - which as things stand looks most likely to be Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris and Tulsi Gabbard, because can you see anyone voting for melted Ken doll Julian Castro? please log in to view this image
