Well.I was led to believe we weren't in the Marshall plan.I was misinformed. We were and our labour party was living in the past after 1945. I can recall many bombed sites in and around London into the fifties,not to mention rationing. I guess our politicians still believed in a British Empire and sent much of the plan's money abroad.... I believe London Transport was due to get rid of ageing buses and trams but the war stopped that......other cities too.Most of old London Transport was removed in the fifties.

WW2 financially brought Britain to their knees,bankrupt! The only winners seemed to be the USA,building and growing everything at home,but lost many a serviceman,like us. I've wondered if Stalin was a winner. So many people and servicemen and women lost in the millions.Of course Stalin stole many a country as payment!!!?

The lynch mob mentality that still exists is surprising. No forgiveness, only retribution. I thought students were meant to liberals? Clearly not, these days.
