  1. And in other news......

Back to Trump and the Mueller Investigation.
If this Financial Investigation Specialist is correct in his assumptions - and I’m sure we all hope he is - Trumps fate could be sealed. And ultimately indirectly sealed as a result of his wandering, mushroom shaped weenie...... <laugh>

This is a long thread, but worth the effort.

Edit: Oh, and just for further amusement, Trump has allegedly read the Justice Department Sentencing Memo published this week and determined it clears him. Contrary to the fact that the Memo directly implicate him in two felonies...... <doh>

  3. It’s fair to say that however much May paid the DUP - £1bn or €2bn - on a pure value for money basis, the Beeb should be worth double to her......

Flagrantly pursuing her agenda over that last few days, traipsing around the country with Ministers to pathetic staged opportunities with the ‘People’ all of whom seemed to have been well briefed on the party line.

Radio 4 last night and again this morning following the ‘May Deal or No Deal’ mantra, no opposing voices heard (well, not if you exclude Michael Heseltine) and not even a mention of the People’s Vote being an option....

Mind you, if only there was a strong, consistent (and opposing!) voice from the Leader of the Opposition. Just a thought....

  4. This ‘lady’ (and I use the term under advisement as ‘she’ is more likely a ‘he’ or a bot account) has views and followers that would place her to the far, far right of Attila the Hun.... some of them proclaiming the prospect of BoJo becoming PM as the first stage of cleaning the swamp <doh>
Another suggests Britain needs a Cromwell. Great timing after Priti Patel’s Irish Famine suggestion: ‘To Hell or Connaught’ was Cromwell’s proclamation to Ireland and Brexiteer Tories today are harping back to it. Feckers!!

It's like the 'Muricans who said they wouldn't be affected by Obamacare being shut down because they were covered by the Affordable Care Act, only to receive an unpleasant surprise when somebody explained to them where they hadn't got their facts straight

Looks like we've got another departure from the Orange Overlord's administration, with White House Chief of Staff John Kelly announcing that he will be leaving his post at the end of the year, taking the number of departures up to 35 in little over two years

The obvious problem Corbyn has is that, if he did say first thing Monday morning that he'd cancel Britait, the Tory attack dogs would be unleashed on him with the sort of fury that makes their last three years of bullshit look like good PR.

That's why I think it's no coincidence that the main voices suggesting a second referendum and/or scrapping the process are Keir Starmer and Angela Rayner: the former is Shadow Britait Secretary while the latter is basically the non-Establishment voice given she's under 40, has a northern accent and is prolific on Twitter (while also being Shadow Education Secretary), both of which mean there's a layer of deniability for Corbyn so the attack dogs can't target him, yet at the same time allowing a means to gauge opinion.

Sticking close to that subject, I couldn't help but notice an Independent article saying that, because Corbyn wasn't jumping up and down in parliament saying "You were found in contempt of parliament yesterday, ner-ner!" that he scored an own goal. Errm...hang on, has political discourse plummeted so badly in this country that a politician not resorting to playground insults is considered an own goal? And that's before the obvious question about, if Corbyn were to bring it up, would the best time to do so be the day after the vote - or would it be on Tuesday when the actual Britait vote takes place?

  8. There may well be some elements of truth in that HBIC, but Corbyn also appears to be too stubborn in his ideologies to see (and take) open goals. Yes, we want our politicians to honour their beliefs, but politics is also about pragmatism - and in this he's sadly lacking. And as such, probably unsuitable to be a party leader.
It is interesting that it is John McDonnell who has displayed this more, particularly in recent days with his criticism of McCluskey. That wasn't expected.....

In other news, the Daily Record has uncovered how the Tories have spent £2m of Foreign Office cash (i.e. taxpayer's money) funding a bot farm to post smears against Jeremy Corbyn on Twitter - and because it's the Tories, they had to be just that little bit more ****ish by registering said bot farm as a charity

I look forward to the BBC's coverage of this story...

Here's a few more of the charming people attending Tommy Robinson's latest desperate bid for mainstream acceptance (a bid which attracted 20% of the attendance of the counter-protest...)

I would suggest that in future in any and all referendums on any subject, a two thirds majority is required to stop all of this 50:50 split. And on that basis, a second Brexit vote could be paletable to all.

Other things that need to be made clear is that when something is floated as an advisory referendum, don't follow up by saying "And if we lose I will do _____ the next day" because that convinces people the result is actually The Word of God
