The Politics Thread

Discussion in 'Tottenham Hotspur' started by Wandering Yid, Feb 9, 2016.

  1. Trumps media mates calling this a personal ‘win’ for him, claiming that the fall in NFL popularity is a direct result of his stand against the supposed unpatriotic onfield acts - despite the fact that this drop off started way before Trumps intervention and is more directly linked to the over-saturation of coverage.

Seems like there’s still some t-crossing and I-dotting as at the moment any ‘fines’ of players will be at the discretion of the clubs involved. With a 70% Black American player base, the next few months could be interesting...... <laugh>

Maybe the answer is to stop playing the national anthem before the game.

But it's so tuneful, non-ridiculous, and definitely not an overblown dirge!

Is the national anthem played before every major
spectator game (basketball, grid iron, ice hockey etc) ,
or is it just for televised games ??

    Every. Single. One.

Of course, any suggestion that this makes the US look like something out of Animal Farm will be swiftly deflected...

  7. With all the egg that was required today to cover the faces of the Hacks caught out over Poch’s new contract, it’s a miracle that there was any left for anyone else. However...... it seems there was still enough to cover our two favourite political buffoons......

Trump pulls the plug on the Korean Summit, blaming the ‘aggression’ of North Korea, but apparently ignores the threats made by his own VP and National Security Advisor!

Boris gets hoodwinked by a spoof call to his mobile from the ‘Armenian PM’ - with the pranksters apparently being given his number by the Staff of Foreign Office Minister Alan Duncan!

Just as well that we’ve used up all the words to describe the level of idiocy and incompetence demonstrated by these 2 Muppets, because we’d be lost for them otherwise.

Our Countries, Safe in their Hands! <doh>

Pathetically, the BBC had someone on the Six O'Clock News trying to claim that Boris Johnson's foot had been nowhere near his mouth.

No, you publicly-funded lickspittle with a gaping hole where your spine should be, Boris Johnson's foot entered his mouth before working its way down his gullet and through his entire digestive system so it could emerge out of his backside before resumings its initial foot-like place while covered in **** and digestive fluid due to its long and eventful journey that began when Boris Johnson's foot forcibly entered his mouth.

Meanwhile, in what Michael Gove refers to as a more tolerant and welcoming environment...

...now that I think of it, can somebody get a sample of Gove's handwriting?

Of course these attitudes are not reflected by the Mail's readers, as the following comments for the report that a Ryanair flight bound for Dublin was cancelled after it clipped another plane at Stanstead show...

More good news ahead of the Bank Holiday Weekend, as Tommy Robinson thought it was a bright idea to livestream a trail while forgetting that...
a.) He was serving a suspended sentence for breaching the peace
b.) By livestreaming outside the trial and showing the faces of those in the dock he's given them a damn good case to declare a mistrial

In response to his arrest and the 13-month prison sentence that comes with it, two things have happened: Rebel Media distanced themselves from Robinson in a multi-part tweet, while his boneheaded followers are now sharing images of the officers who arrested Robinson and the judge who sentenced them online - which I'm sure won;t lead to said boneheaded followers receiving a knock on their door in the next few days.

I wonder what tv and newspapers/vendors will do when Trump goes to prison. They just love his ranting which fills up tv time and newspaper print. He is a prick though and is on course to become another Hitler with his Republican Party members just shaking in their boots hoping he won't take away their pensions!

  19. Proud of my adopted home country today in the humane and compassionate decision to amend the 8th Amendment.

National turnout nearly 65%, up to 71% in places - and 66% majority 'Yes'

Particularly pleasing was the high results in rural areas, including my own West Cork - demonstrating that commitment to traditional and Catholic community values does not preclude the ability to counsel change when it is required.

And THAT, Brexiteers, is what you call a majority in a national election - one in which the losing side has already conceded and is publicly agreeing with the country's decision.

    Well done, Ireland <applause>
