I was wondering why Michelle Wolf was getting so much stick for her bit at the White House Correspondent's dinner. Now I know: Standard roast, standard roast, standard roast... attack on the media. Ah. There we are. "You guys are obsessed with Trump. Did you used to date him? Because you pretend like you hate him, but I think you love him. I think what no one in this room wants to admit is that Trump has helped all of you. He couldn’t sell steaks or vodka or water or college or ties or Eric, but he has helped you. He’s helped you sell your papers and your books and your TV. You helped create this monster, and now you’re profiting off of him. If you’re going to profit off of Trump, you should at least give him some money, because he doesn’t have any."
So Scotland has introduced a minimum price per unit of alcohol today. This is an attempt to reduce alcohol consumption - among the poor anyway. Or at least make it harder for them to get hold of it. Great for whisky shops in Berwick and Carlisle though. And there might be a revival in home brew kits. Or failing that just turn to drugs. Pointless social engineering.
Judging by the BBC's headlines, the Windrush scandal has been sorted out already and there's no need to continue reporting on it. Instead here's a non-story about some D-list Youtubers advertising an essay-writing service (which didn't bother to mention that the main reason they were advertising this service was because most low-tier Youtubers have seen their ad revenue decimated in the past year so they have to do paid advertisements to make money, so of course they'd accept offers from somebody offering hard cash up front for a twenty second namedrop)
More sleaze on the campaign trail as Kamran Razzaq, the Tory (who else?) candidate for Dudley Council, included this in his campaign leaflet please log in to view this image
It seems that so many Tory candidates claim to have read and/or signed the Tory respect pledge, only to prove otherwise. Here's a list from the last month I'm sure we'll be hearing about it on the Daily Politics...
There are plenty of politniks of all colours out there who while able to rightly make that claim, cannot individually or collectively stop themselves from making eff-ups to the contrary even if their very souls depended on it.
May has ordered a three-line whip on the Windrush transparency vote. Definitely the actions of somebody with nothing to hide.
Oh look, I can see the future: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-43970908 Did anyone really fall for that bullshit?
Quite brave of the BBC to lead with a **** up at NHS England as they failed to send reminders for breast cancer screenings leading to a potential 270 deaths - a **** up which didn't happen in Scotland or Wales as they use different IT systems to the one Jeremy ...Hunt continues to not update in spite of Windows XP being the best part of fifteen years out of date.
