Trump's basically saying that it's a negative for Republicans, because it helps the American people.
The Fairness Doctrine required broadcasters to be honest, which is why they got rid of it.
Can't have the viewers learning anything. Very dangerous. Just teach them to be angry all the time. Much better.

It rather seems that Trump does not like black people especially Barack Obama.
Perhaps Obama is a self made man whilst Trump is a hand me down specimen with a million from daddy!
Is Carson his only black man in his troupe because Carson thinks he's really white?

  4. As Trump threatens UN countries who dare to vote against his Jerusalem plan....... ‘go against me and I’ll cut your funding!’
And using his UN Ambassador as his attack dog it seems:

And apparently the ‘American people’ voted for Jerusalem to be the capital of Israel..... must have missed that! <laugh>

Well they've been trying to assassinate the character of the retired PC who came forward with pertinent information and now don't they owe him a massive apology? I heard the guy interviewed, so I think I was able to cut through the bullshit pedalled by the usual media suspects. He said that he knew the Cabinet Office was investigating and he knew the Cabinet Office had been given his contact details as the main person to give evidence about the 2008 'findings'. And here's they important bit ... they failed to contact him. That is why he came forward. Now that the investigation found that Green lied about what happened previously Green was sacked. Point being (I think) is that if the retired officer hadn't come forward the Cabinet Office would have been able to sweep all the allegations under the carpet and clear Green, so what the retired officer did was act in the public interest, and he did so at some discomfort to himself. We owe him a debt of gratitude. Sadly Green still seems to have got away with the original offence (by which I mean sackable offence if not legal offence) of what he used his work computer for, on work premises presumably in work time. I wouldn't suggest anyone else try doing that at work.

  8. The Press condemnation of the ‘whistleblower’ actions, not only of the DC, but also Bob Quick, was prompted and promoted by No 10. Both officers had made clear they were only coming forward as a result of the lies being pedaled by Green. They have been proved 100% right - but I wouldn’t hold your breath for an apology heading their way from either the Government or the media organizations who castigated them!

On 5Live this morning a Tory MP commenting on the story completely avoided the question "did Damien Green lie" and suggested that there could possibly be a prosecution of the policeman who came forward (Quick). Sadly the interviewer did not follow up on either of these. I suspect that there will be no prosecution and the Government will hope that quietly goes away. A prosecution will only remind the public what actually happened here.

The official line is something like Damien Green was asked to resign due to lying to parliament about there being porn on his parliamentary computer, but there is no question that he is telling the truth about the lack of porn on his parliamentary computer.

    Eh?

And that's before tacking the questions about David Davish repeatedly lying to parliament about the Britait impact assessments that never existed. Or, you know, how the porn story is being used to divert everyone's attention away from the actual story, namely this...

  11. Andrew Mitchell - he who has more than a few bags of McCains on his shoulder - was first in the queue defending his mate Green a couple of weeks ago. I imagine that there are a few personal reputations at stake if there were to be any public condemnations made of the porn-watcher.
Personally I think HIGNFY got it spot on......

Gives some interesting insight into previous sex scandals involving MPs, though they were often far, far more serious.
What else gets "accidentally overlooked" because it's not deemed to be in the best interests of the public?

What's been overlooked is the reason why the police had his computer in the first place: because he had been arrested due to receiving several illegally-obtained documents from a disgruntled Home Office civil servant with the intent to play a few dirty tricks on Gordon Brown's government, a disgruntled Home Office civil servant that Green happened to encourage to leak the documents that by complete coincidence wound up in his possession

    Meanwhile...

  19. MP Mark Garnier cleared of breaking ministerial code http://www.bbc.co.uk./news/uk-politics-42448314

Another huge leap forward in improving Parliamentary behaviour: an MP sends an assistant to purchase sex toys and refers to her as ‘Sugar Tits’!
The investigation concluded there was "no evidence" to suggest he had broken the rules..... Wonder who devised those rules? Oh, that would be MP’s, I imagine!!

They watched Mad Men and decided that it was all fine. People liked that show, so they must like this too, right?
