Bush Senior had been in combat, unlike his Vietnam-dodging son. All other things considered I think it's easier to trust someone that has actually put their life on the line for their country, whatever their politics. I think Kerry might have made a good president, but the "patriotic" republicans bizarrely decided to champion the coward Bush instead of war hero Kerry. (Incidentally they often champion those celebrity Republicans that fought for their country like the great James Stewart but completely ignore the equally worthy veterans that supported the Democrats like James Garner.)
Like Trump pillorying John McCain for being captured in Vietnam when he was too much of a coward to even go.
I have often pondered whether a property sales tax, aside from hopefully being "revenue neutral" compared to "stamp duty" , would shift the buying balance to first time + lower income buyers.
Funnily enough that subject came up again in the past few days when this was posted to the POTUS Twitter account Suffice to say people were quick to exercise their right to free speech (before Trump blocked them...)
But there was something about him that made the country feel "safe". Don't have it now. It's just a matter of time before Trump reaches for the button.....but he and One Hung Low in North Korea have their bomb shelters well stocked up and nice and deep with a few virgins ready and willing!!!!!?
Hurricane past over Dominica.Their Premier states "the roof on my house has gone.We are going to need help,my friend........." I wonder if this increase in Hurricanes has anything to do with global warming.which Trump is ignoring..........but he is threatening to wipe out N.Korea. Perhaps Trump and One Hung Low will settle this with a snowball fight?
Some people are critical of Aung San Suu Kyi doing nothing about the Rohingya persecution in Myanmar that has seriously escalated in the past month, while others are critical of Aung San Suu Kyi for using Trump's "bad people on both sides" argument when she addressed the situation earlier today. Personally I am critical of Aung San Suu Kyi for walking off the podium too fast, as this caused a nasty strobing effect with the Myanmese(?) recording equipment which has given me a splitting headache...
It's not a good day to be a fact-averse racist, with Britain First leaders Paul Golding and Jayda Fransen being charged on three counts of racially aggravated harassment, while former English Defence League leader Tommy Robinson has been given a suspended prison sentence for contempt of court. It didn't surprise me to hear that Golding and Fransen are residents of Penge, which is a place that can best be described as Croydon's nastier, scummier little cousin...
Trump used the phrase "rocket man" because goading a man able to kill 20 million people is clearly a good idea.
I would be more worried about N Korea using the phrase 'tiny hands baldie boy' to goad Drumpf into initiating Armageddon.
It's like the plot of a Bond film. Time to send for the suave British chap to sort it out - trouble is, which one's the Bond villain?
