They will eat May up and spit her out and she will claim to be strong and stable as she staggers out of the talks wondering why they wouldn't listen.
By a clean deal I mean a clean break, she's a happless old tart who couldn't negotiate to buy a rug in a Turkish Bazaar, so we will get a clean break, (Hard Brexit to some). If JC tries to do the job, they will still be talking in ten years time. Scotland will be independent and Spurs will probably have three PL trophys. There probably won't be an EU by the time he's sorted everything to his liking.
Have you got the election night one? There are quite a few younger posters of here who probably havent seen it. Warn them to make sure Haigs favourite clinic is open before they watch it.
The Euro has totally fcuked Greece, best off out of it in the long term, in the mean time, should be good for a cheap holiday.
Or another way of looking at it is the EU negotiators have ****ed Greece. Varoufakis makes the point that he prepared an exhaustive financial plan to present to the EU which they completely blanked and accused Greece of being without a plan. This is an insight into what we can expect in our negotiations. Our position is not as strong as we think for example people will pay a premium for German cars, they already do. Nissan's from Sunderland, on the other hand, do not carry such a cache.
Apart from the fact the UK is not tied to their vanity currency, is a quite large net contributor to their budget etc, no doubt the EU "negotiators" see the UK as being exactly the same as Greece.
More the methods used by the EU than the similarities with Greece. We can have a bigger debt and get away with it because we can print money and of course we don't have the Euro. but that will make little difference to EU's point of view. It's not who is holding the best hand, the problem is we are playing with different packs. The talk has been of a divorce but in fact the EU is married and not to us. We are the bit on the side that they would rather not come clean about.
And to complete your analogy, a "bit on the side" that they bizarrely think should be paying them for the privilege.
My analogy for Marie Antoinette's head still stands, though. It may have been clean for her, not so clean for anyone in the first few rows...
And in other news..... Trump is going down!!! Ripped to shreds by Comey's testimony and now claiming to be the victim of a cross-party Washington conspiracy!
No biggie, but Amber Rudd let slip on her appearance on Woman's Hour that the government know full well that Saudi Arabia are funding ISIS: https://www.thecanary.co/2017/06/08...s-slip-secret-saudi-arabia-tank-tories-audio/ So when does Diane Abbot get a few thousand apologies?
The Saudi football team and supporters also ignored the minutes silence before the game against Australia. On one hand the whole 'minutes silence' thing is possibly getting a bit stretched, but on the other it probably says more about the special ($£€) relationship the US and UK has with that state!
