Also worth noting the WP are now reporting that **** For Brains worked in the US illegally
    https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2024/10/26/elon-musk-immigration-status/

I'm sure it's a coincidence that **** For Brains, Peter Thiel and Peter Sacks are all pro-Trump and throwing absurd amounts of money at him, and by complete coincidence are all Apartheid-era white Afrikaners...

The latest from Trump was him talking about a retired famous golfer's penis size and other Mar A Largo shower golf comparisons. Then immigrants. Then his love for Hitler.Does he know Hitler was an immigrant?.......I visited some friends in Lexington yesterday, decided to stay away from the heavy traffic on the I75 and drive back home to Richmond through horse country and all I saw, apart from horses!!! were Trump signs. So those horsey people love him! Why?

The frightening thing is that his messaging appears to be winning out! The latest bollox being replacing $5 Trillion annual income and corporation tax revenue with tariffs on foreign goods. As tariffs currently only raise 2% of the tax figure that clearly won't work, and even if he raised the tariffs to 100% that still wouldn't raise enough. And of course when imported goods are twice as expensive, then guess what...people won't buy them! <doh>
BUT, that's not the point for his campaign, because they know that all the dumb asses will hear is 'no more income tax to pay'!

I'm not seeing the words that claim the
    following should be subordinate/subservient to
    the state :

    1. individuals
    2. commerce
    3. academia
    4. religions

Perhaps you can point them out to me ...

He is advocating that basically anyone who opposes him - be that Corporates, Lawyers, Politicians, journalists (and by natural consequence members of the general public) - be identified and prosecuted. And this 'opposition' appears to relate to anyone complicit in what he deems to be the cheating of his loss in 2020 - something that never happened and has been proven repeatedly to be the case.

I would say that as a policy, preventing political opposition at the level he advocates would more than adequately cover some key elements of what general is accepted as Fascism: authoritarian and totalitarian right-wing system of government and social organization.

But heh, you call it what you like <cheers>

There's a popular list from Italian philosopher Umberto Eco from around 1995 that does the rounds:

There are also older definitions with similar lists, of course, but I'm not sure which boxes Trump isn't ticking for you.
He was talking up dictators again yesterday, too.

A lot of the above also apply to Marxist regimes since they emerged
(and interestingly : Islam) , as does things like the thikipedia summary
    definition of fascism.

So in summary, do not use "fascist" *** , "marxist" etc if you really mean :

    - authoritarian
    - totalitarian
    - brutal material punisher of contrary/dissenting socio--pollitical opinions
    - instigator of (un)intentional genocides that cause death tolls in the range 1-100 million

*** In USA 2024, I have seen election "town hall" footage where
people are sick and tired of the USA Democrat party / news media
blabbing "fascist" 24x7, and are more likely to vote for Trump
    BECAUSE OF IT.

I've seen some of those town hall things with supposedly undecided voters and they're full of ****.
If you're put off voting for a candidate because they insult people, then you're not going to vote for Trump, are you?
They stack it with dishonest Republicans who claim that they're neutral and they get found out afterwards, in my experience.

As for not calling Trump a fascist because there are other brands of authoritarianism available, that's not an argument.
He's a fascist. Feel free to argue otherwise, but you simply haven't attempted to do that.

It seems the charge is that chanting it as a mantra ad nauseum
is not convincing the electorate otherwise, and if that is
all you can offer then they'll vote for the other guy.

"As for not calling Trump a fascist because there are other brands of authoritarianism available, that's not an argument."

Indeed. Happy to say that is an argument I am not making.

"He's a fascist. Feel free to argue otherwise, but you simply haven't attempted to do that."

I am not seeing someone who particularly cares
for / is enamoured by the governing state
(which would be the antithesis of fascism) .
