Starmer has responded to Putin's claims that Ukraine using provided weapons in Russia will result in a war with NATO:
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cvgxgvw38xjo

“Russia started this conflict. Russia illegally invaded Ukraine. Russia can end this conflict straight away,” he said.
He later added: “To reiterate, it was Russia who started this in the first place. They caused the conflict, they’re the ones who are acting unlawfully.”

I'm sure the usual suspects will continue to echo the criminal's talking points, though. Pays well, apparently.

That's some real, old school racism right there.
I wonder how she feels about JD Vance, given that his wife was born Usha Chilukuri and she's the daughter of two Indian immigrants?
She's also a lawyer who worked in China and assisted a programme for Iraqi refugees.

The biggest indication that something doesn't smell right is that nearly two months on Trump hasn't said a word about the shooter

For somebody incapable of letting the mildest slight go unaddressed, often devoting weeks to saying the it didn't get under his skin and people should stop saying it got under his skin as it totally didn't, the fact he hasn't said a word about someone who (allegedly) tried to kill him is so out of character it's immediately suspicious

So, more than 2000 criminals have been released from prison early and replaced with concerned members of the British public (loonie lefty`s frantically googling the numbers), some of them have already been recalled to jail, one of them within 36 hours <laugh> and another arrested on suspicion of rape, what a great decision that was. Meanwhile hard up pensioners have had their winter fuel payment removed by Rachel Thieves (who claimed more than £4K in government expenses for her own energy bills) and left to freeze this winter, and all while an endless supply of illegal immigrants continue to be housed free of charge in heated 4 star luxury. All Kim Jong Starmer can do is continue to drone on about a self created £22b black hole with billions wasted on foreign aid, climate aid, undeserved pay rises etc. We are now living in a communist dictatorship, the Tories were crap, but this Liebour government is taking things to a whole new depth.

Criticism of the Tory-conceived and Tory- caused early prison release scheme appears to be limited to those 'balanced' journals, DT and DM.
1700 (additional) early releases, coming out after serving 40% rather than the usual 50% and a handful of recalls for breaching the terms of release - which surely should be a positive measure of the control?
The new Government has misstepped a couple of times in their first two months in power after 15 years in Opposition, but I'm not sure that they should face criticism for this situation and for actioning a policy that the last Government considered necessary to address their own failings.

What exactly would be the short term alternative for an economy on its knees and a Criminal Justice infrastructure unfit for purpose in both size and form?

You'd think with the amount of time Loomey Tunes devotes to culture war bullshit, she'd not blunder into things like this...

30% of people over 65 are millionaires...do you support giving them £200 tax free. That's what the Tories have been doing.

If those who are entitled to pension credit actually claim it as a result of this publicity them that will effectively help a lot of the poorest pensioners. This policy isn't very good but neither was continuing with the previous arrangements.

Continuing the previous arrangement was a far better idea that Reeves and the heating thieves' belief that it should be means tested, as means testing would have cost more than the previous arrangement ever did

If they wanted the £300 back from people who earned enough that getting £300 in winter fuel allowance feels like a pisstake, that's what a wealth tax is for - but Reeves will never, ever do that because that's one concession (of many) Starmer had to make to be allowed into power

Are there any Clacton residents on here? Would love to know what they think about their new MP who hasn't visited his Constituency since being elected, but has earned +£1m in US speaking engagements over that time...

If he'd been in Clacton lately, he might have heard about the proposed rule of serving MPs not being allowed to have second jobs
