I assume he's referring to Hitler's statements in July 1940, but he doesn't specify. Pretty hard to take it seriously after the Munich Agreement, though. The details are irrelevant, anyway. Gribbin is fine with Britain allowing the Nazis to take over Europe and commit the holocaust. Reform agree with him.
Very relevant. That I cannot find cursory info on such an offer suggests that such an offer was never made. And if it was, it could only be for nations E/SE of Germany. "Gribbin is fine with Britain allowing the Nazis to take over Europe" Most of which they had already done (directly or on paper) , by military force or via diplomatic alliances, before the UK declared war. "and commit the holocaust." Where has the guy stated that ??
https://www.upi.com/Archives/1940/07/19/Hitler-offers-Britain-peace-or-destruction/6824181303557/ Finding details at the moment is made much more difficult because of Gribbin's statement. Reports of it have flooded response to any searches, unfortunately. He's stated it by his desire to stay out of WWII. It would be a direct consequence. There's no ignorance to be claimed now, as there might have been at the time.
There was a moment when Churchill first became PM, when Halifax wanted to negotiate peace with Hitler through Mussolini and Churchill tentatively agreed to explore this. Would've meant we stayed out of what was going on in mainland Europe and iirc avoided the expected decimation of British forces in Dunkirk. I'm guessing this is what he's referring to. Or he may be meaning ignoring our international agreement following the invasion of Poland, fck knows.
Given how many Reform PLC bellends are parroting the "Hitluh wuz a soshulist" line at the moment simultaneously, there's a fair chance that they're talking absolute, positive, pure, unfiltered, extra virgin bollocks
Oh there's absolutely no doubt about that. Remember these were the same ****s who were on the ticket with Oswald Moseley back then. The same dickheads who bang on about veterans since then, when it suits them.
There are loads of reasons to not trust Labour I'm sure, but relying on a doctored cut/paste video doesn't seem to be the strongest evidence.
